The English language is so common that it is spoken all around the world. Here at home our language has been spoken in many accents.
Which accent puts you off or you find hard to understand?? |

"Don't like the Geordie women accent but love a Welsh or Irish accent. Oh and scouse!"
I find the scouse accent abit chavvy (I don't mean all scouser are chavvy) it reminds of the Jeremy kyle show. |

NORTH Liverpool makes me cringe but Im sick of everyone presuming ALL Scousers sound like that. I most certainly dont. ! Get it right people. South Liverpool is very simillar to a soft Dublin accent. Not a scally screech.
And it isnt even rant Thursday |

It's voices rather than accents that put me off someone. Something about pitch or cadence. Which is totally hypocritical of me since my voice sounds horribly shrill to me regardless of the hint of West Country. |

I don't see what's sexy about it AT ALL.
I love accents from all over!
You don't have to understand why, just keep talking "
Well you know I can do that! |

don't mind any accent, sometimes have trouble with a really strong accent, hate to keep asking what's been said.
Heard "with or without you" sung in a strong Wolverhampton accent before. couldn't take it seriously |

"Nobody likes our wurzel accent
Sorry Pamela but I can't take the Bristolian accent seriously but I'm sure that's reciprocated. Easy solution, just don't talk "
That's the joy of sounding like a 'farmer'. People assume you're thick so you can take the piss mercilessly and they don't realise. |

Australian, the way they put an inflection at the end of every sentence to make them all a question, although I think it's mainly a Melbourne idiosyncrasy, |

"I love all accents and hope that they don't continue to die out, with the rise of EastEnders effect etc, which is pushing many to decline"
Can't stand people who try and hide where they're from. Affected accent from anywhere is probably the one thing that makes me cringe. I like all accents except fake homogenised boring non descript ones. |

An accent is an accent. I know I have a clear cut English accent and at a club this weekend I overheard comments to the fact that because of my accent I must be posh and basically uptight / posh.
This, as anyone who knows me would say, is not true. An accent does not denote the person you are. Sounding post or common does not make you any less of a person which is how I felt when I heard people laughing behind my back |
