Meet cancellations (heard or given)

So we all have been stood up and stood up people. But what has been the lamest excuse you've heard for someone to cancel on you and what excuse have you used and why
Recieved; a couple didn't want me to take cab to their address but said they only meet people who drive. I asked why said didn't want cabbies coming onto there road
Given; Said I was with the lads they just came round with beers and cards lol. And did it because a hotter girl on fab responded to my ad LOL |

Not quite a cancellation but did have someone say they had to get home to run the kids about. I later learned they met up with someone else for some 'fun'. Charming!! |

Received : I can't meet you tonight I've just found out my man died, then a few hours later remessages me to ask of I'm still free as he was feeling like he needed some company (while on his status was naming and shaming another user for standing him up) so I told him I was interested in being his back up plan especially since I'd already lined up another meet that I absolutely enjoyed
Given : last minute childcare issues or as of today a surprise visit from Mother Nature but those are true excuses when I give them |

We've never been stood up and we've certainly never stood anyone up. We've had to put up with cancellations though, but all have had the courtesy to tell us, and all were men we'd met before. I don't know why this is treated as the norm. We would never cancel anyone. |

neither would i.
only time i cancelled on a guy was because i'd already told someone else first i would meet them and forgot about that, but i let the guy know about that i had forgotten i said i'd meet someone else.
he has a grudge against me now and tells my veris that i'm a dog and asks them if i'm a good fuck, why's he care about that if i'm a dog to him anyway? |

Actually, i remember. I did cancel once. One of my guys and I arranged 2 weeks ahead for him to visit me at home during the day. Normally I'm totally anal with my diary, but for some reason I had forgotten to put that it was the kids sports day that day. Had it been an evening meet I wouldn't have made that mistake, but I don't normally do day time meets. I cancelled with 1 full weeks notice and he could tell how embarrassed I was that I had got disorganised with my diary. |

We did have a cancellation once from one of our regulars because his church friends, of all people, wanted to go for a bite and a movie ! Terrified that they would discover his double life, he felt he had to say yes to them even though he'd been with them all afternoon and we'd had our arrangement in the diary for about a month. |

My reasons not to follow through on a meet are all true but could be considered lame. I've said no because I couldn't be arsed to tidy my house, said that I was not in a good mood, said I wanted to have an Indian over my friends instead. They're all valid and truthful though! |

One guy had been pestering us for a meet for weeks so we eventually relented and said ok. We'd exchanged face pics and everything was set to go ahead then 1 hour before the meet he messaged to say he had sunburn. He never asked to reschedule and neither did we so I guess he just changed his mind.
On the upside, at least he messaged so no time was wasted. |

I've only cancelled genuinely and because of kids usually, day meets tend to be the hardest, chicken pox and d&v whereby they have been kept off school. Yes it's last minute but can't be helped when you're a single mum x |

I had to cancel once due to a flood at work which happened just as I was about to leave. The couple I was meeting got really arsey about it and for weeks I had messages off them calling me all names under the sun. I blocked them and then started getting messages from their friends, they were also messaging the people on my friends list and those that had verified me. Almost made me quit the site. |

I had to cancel a meet once because my daughter had fell in the back garden and took a big chunk out of her leg, I text him straight away telling him, I was then bombarded with text asking me which hospital we was going to and he would sit and have a chat in the waiting room when I said no he asked what I had to hid, if I was being honest I'd have no problem telling him where I was going and just meeting for a chat while I was waiting for the doctor to see my daugher when I refused he got very nasty and kept sending me time waster messages, I ended up changing my number to get rid of him and never gave my number out again to anybody |

To be honest I just simply think he didn't believe me and was trying to catch me out
I suppose if you have enough people cancel on you you start doubting everybody |

Most likely however he should have realised how awkward it would be for him to just turn up there in an attempt to call your bluff |
