Oral sex is spreading STI's now, extremely quickly. But whilst wearing a condom for full sex is the norm, it's not much fun having a blow job with a condom or using a dental dam on a woman

Chlamydia is a bacterial infection. The bacteria are usually spread through sex or contact with infected genital fluids (semen or vaginal fluid).
You can get chlamydia through:
unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sex
sharing sex toys that aren't washed or covered with a new condom each time they're used
your genitals coming into contact with your partner's genitals – this means you can get chlamydia from someone even if there is no penetration, orgasm or ejaculation
infected semen or vaginal fluid getting into your eye

I was told in my sexual health clinic that chlamydia can be passed on via fingers. Makes total sense, and very relevant for those who do threesomes and moresomes. |

Should toys be washed with anything in particular? Antimicrobial solution or wipe? Or is normal detergent adequate? I mean once it's washed and dried is it now hygienic? |

We all take a risk with what we do ! Having sex with complete strangers every week has its risks like doing drugs or drink. If we were to listen to every warning the government gave us we would have to lock ourselves up in a box and live off pills !!! |

I know someone who swore by a shot of whisky every morning when they were in India to ward off Delhi belly and we all know that if we had to saw a friends leg off in an emergency we should douse the carving knife in vodka. i dont even go to a clinic, i have mine at the doctors. And ive always had throat swabs and wasnt even aware until people mentioned it on fab that some places dont offer it and the nurse has been doing me for roughly 17 years and i was getting throat swabs then. I dont get free condoms though |

you do know you can catch a lot of things orally. Chlamydia is a relatively new its also very easy to clear up if you know you have it, but it causes infertility in women if its not been picked up. Every time my lady bits get looked at they do a routine test. They even have a chlamydia box at our doctors where anyone can just drop a swab in to be tested. Theres absolutly no reason why anyone here should have chlamydia and not know about it unless they dont have much sense.

If you are truly bothered about oral sti then you must wear a mask and gloves full time because most infectious and contageous non-sti diseases are far more damaging than the average sti. And you have a far higher chance of getting one!
It surprises me that the stigma of STIs, which results from the perfectly natural act of having sex, are still feared so much whilst the far higher threat posed by unnatural non sexual activities are brushed aside with casual bravado. |
