I've just gone from I5 to S7 and it is quite a big change but I love it so far. Had my iPhone for 4 years. Still learning but enjoying it
You will get a 50/50 divide on here so it probably won't be very helpful |

I've had the last 4 of Samsung's Galaxy S range and they've all been really good, I couldn't fault them in any way. However the experts are saying that the new HTC One (M11) is the best of the best right now... although it's not available quite yet.
The apple phones have always lagged behind the top android handsets on every aspect of their hardware, but the main reason why I'd personally not buy an Apple phone is that apple are so controlling and restrictive in how they lock down their software.
Certainly, and Android device will give you more hardware for your money, but if you're already a fan of Apple, then you may find the change takes a little getting used to.

I have had both apple and Samsung. I would definitely recommend Samsung.
Although i am due to upgrade and i think i might give the hauwei a try as the reviews seem very good...either way i will stick with android. |

I have an iPhone as a works mobile and find it really irritating to use because I'm used to Android. My new personal phone is a Huawei P9, I'm finding it a real delight after all of the Samsung bloatware. |

I have had nothing but Apple for many years now.
But I have a friend who went from Apple to Samsung as he was not happy with Apple customer service..........and then back to Apple within 5 days because the although told otherwise by sales person the Samsung would perform like the iPhone. |

I used to have a candlestick phone in the study. I'd love to take it out on a night out and whip it out to make a call, acting all nonchalant about it, perhaps sticking a box brownie to it to take a pic. I've a feeling that would provide a surreal experience for all |

Samsung is always latest as can be on hardware front. iPhones tend to be signed off a couple of years in advanced so hardware tends to be 12-18months behind. Hence why you see the specs lag way behind other manufacturers.
Apple probably more user friendly, targeting luddites. Most people don't like them because you are stuck in their ecosystem. Must have spent about £2k on them.
Android, much more freedom, but not perfect. If you are a fan of Google, you'll love the accessibility of Google on all your devices.
So swings and roundabouts.
I found the Samsung for me was less pain than Apple. Don't think I'll go back to Apple, overpriced outdated phones. |
