I've had one encounter where I didn't play safe. Yeah, I know, what a fool. I tested for everything and then again after three months, for hiv etc. I was clear on all counts. Since then I play extremely safe and I'll get tested again.
What's your routine/thoughts about this? |

Do not risk it again. What other thoughts are available? |

Yes extra safe few years ago with a regular fb condom broke fell pregnant and had a termination. Was the right decision at the time but there is not a day goes by where I don't feel guilty. This was five years ago ended up having a mental breakdown being sectioned and diagnosed bi polar x |

When I was a young lad no one got tested you only visited the clinic for treatment, these days folk are far more informed,
Prevention is better than cure...getting tested It's quick easy and relatively painless, |

Penetrative sex – condoms always – without exception.
Oral sex – giving – unprotected.
Oral sex receiving – up to her.
Get tested for all STIs after unprotected oral either way.
No play for the five weeks it takes to get a full STI result – the HIV test is useless unless it is done at least four weeks after possible infection.
The bugs stop here!
I DO NOT RISK DAMAGING OTHER PEOPLE’S HEALTH.
Too many Fabbers can’t get their heads around this concept.

"No method is infallible so test regularly anyway.
"
For everything, HIV included which they want more people to do just to see how its affecting the population since the 80s...

HIV and stds are higher risks for people over a certain age either fresh out of a relationship or for people that have passed over menopause age they think they are safe because they can't get pregnant x |

"So do people abstain for the three months it takes for an hiv etc test? "
I had my hiv test result (negative) about 3 weeks after my blood sample.. they were a bit slower than normal it's normally a couple of weeks. |

I get tested every quarter, full spectrum. Too important not to, the earlier anything is caught, the easier it is to treat.
However, when I'm there, it's the questions that get me.
How many sexual partners have you had since we last saw you? (None of your damned business...more than one).
Did you know the more partners you have, the greater your chance of contracting a sexual disease? (No shit Sherlock, why do you think I'm here?)
Are you or have you ever been in an abusive relationship? (What the hell has this got to do with my flipping chlamydia test?)
Are you currently being subjected to physical abuse? (Only if I ask very, *very* nicely!)
There are times when I think it would pay to go private. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
"So do people abstain for the three months it takes for an hiv etc test? "
I don't meet that often but I don't abstain. I have a monthly blood test any way and have opted to have HIV checked with that test. Most people don't abstain or people would only meet every 14/15 weeks.

The sexual abuse questions are asked because sometimes people finally open up and can get help. It's also the way that some who are positive choose to pass on STIs, including HIV.

Sex is a risk. We choose to take the risk. We can minimise it but not eliminate it so testing mitigates some of that risk. I'll take responsibility for me.

Is more that the clinic can't touch you if there is an abuse or rape case and the police will be involved. You'd know this, as it's explained at the clinic. |
