As a broke student, it's been a long time since I spent a couple of hundred or more on anything for myself.
My rent every month or visits to the vet with my cats, I guess, doesn't count!
I am saving for a new camera which will be £250, if I ever get the money together. Essential things keep coming up and draining the fund.
Treats for me are more non-essentials in the £30-£50 range at the moment. |

Damn right Dyson do a hairdryer, and it's bloody amazing. The technology behind it is fascinating. It satisfies my inner nerd as well as helping me cope with my copious amounts of mane. |

"Wife bought a car 3 weeks ago.
I spent £3500 on camera equipment last month. "
Camera equipment is a never ending drain on my bank account already up to 5 figures and not really scratched the surface on what I need!! (Want)ha |

"Big TV and an Xbox one, spent the last year with a 15" TV so needed some girth in my life"
You'll be amazed at the difference at first then you'll soon get used to it.
I went from an old crappy square 28" telly to a 40" LED 1080p flatscreen n For the first few days it was like being at the cinema! |

Last month I spent £1,250 on a watch. I'd been eyeing it up for over a year. Very chuffed with it and was an upgrade on my retro Casio (that I still love) |

Wow.
That's what I spend on a car and it came with a free clock! |

I felt a little extravagant and to be honest my car isn't even worth much more... but I'd literally been eye'ing it up and mulling it over for a long time. And I convinced myself a Swiss watch should hold its value! Ha :-/ |

My new candle has just arrived. It's a lammas candle to celebrate the first harvest. It's got notes of marigolds, rose and late summer flowers in a warm veil of newly mown hay.
Looking forward to lighting it tonight. Xxx |

"Hoping to buy the bike of my dreams this week..£3800.
A couple of years ago the idea would have horrified me but now I can't wait to get it."

See a quality watch as an investment. I bought my tag a few months back for £4500, which is insane really, but it will be worth at least that when it comes to sell. Always wanted a tag and treated myself! |

"A reel to reel tape deck. Used but with a warranty. However the seller is somewhat unaware that the reels actually need to move for it to be working so it is going back.
The search continues."
Sounds odd,but you could try contacting local schools, most likely will be the ones that have been around for a long time, not the new acadamy types, the music departments might have one lurking in cupboards. |
