"Any other swimmers on here?
Mr " Used to do a lot, then stopped.
Now I've just started up again and am absolutely gasping for air after 150m, it's scary stuff! |

"Swimming was my sport as a youth. I haven't been much since I had my ileostomy. I have now found a seawater swimming pool near me, so I can go and swim in a wetsuit. I really enjoy it. "
*cough cough* still waiting for that wetsuit pic |

"Can't swim.
Nor me I have a ridiculous fear of water, I can't even stand under a shower, I panic if water goes on my face "
Me too up until two or three years ago. Thought it was impossible but got over the fear with goggles in a pool. Can't swim properly but learned to swim underwater on one breath.
Weird feeling when i finally managed to get my head underwater....very calm and peaceful and no particular urgency to go back above water.
I havent been swimming since those lessons with friends tho so would perhaps have to re learn

Learn to dive then fella. There are PADI and Bsac centres all over the place and you need to swim well as you move up levels.
You'll get the best of both worlds...literally |
