Just took me to South Woolwich instead of Harrow (no, I don't know why either)... What should have taken 45 minutes took me 3 hours and I only arrived in time for dessert!
What travel disasters have befallen you...? |

Before the days of the sat Nov and just after I passed my yest I was driving to my nan's in Essex. Went the wrong way on the m25 and didn't realise. Took me about 6 fucking hours to get there!! Knew I'd gone wrong when I was going over a bridge I'd never seen before. |

I made it out of Ireland at 19.
Ever since then I've done okay. |

How is that even possible? One is SE London and the other is NW.
If I go wrong the first time then that journey is imprinted and I end up going wrong every time I go to whatever place it is. It used to add about 20 miles to my journey from London to Pocklington.

I got lost on the way to a meet last year.
At the time I was using the sat nav on my phone (which of course raped the battery) and ran out of charge.
I got cut off trying to explain to the fella I was meeting that I was lost and late!
I also didn't have an in-car USB charger, so ended up stopping at a pub, asking to plug my phone in behind the bar and then phoning the lucky man I was meeting who then had to leave the hotel and come and find me at the pub!
I then followed him back to the hotel and charged my phone up while we had our meet! |

Don't use the sat nav much as can read a map but what gets me is the amount of people who seem to think they are some sort of electronic god that must be followed implicitly.
Shakes head in amazement with hand over eyes. |

I once was told to follow the signs to the airport when going on holiday and my passenger fell asleep. So I literally pulled into the airport and woke up and said after looking around wtf we doing here we are supposed to be at Gatwick not Heathrow. |

As a 12yr old dad said "Right, there's the map book I'm just going to follow your directions"
We were travelling from S.London to Cornwall & he hated motorways & was in no hurry..
Good job really as we ended up 5 miles outside Chichester!!

I know, I know. In my defence I'd never been to either location before and, having double checked the postcode twice, I was sure satnav would be right so did as I was told, just assumed it was being a little adventurous, as it's done before!! |
