I save my sarcastic comments for eurovision... lol it was okay.... the 4 hour time difference is going to mess around with my sleep... its brilliant for the morning and afternoon events... cycling, rowing, boxing, judo ect as they will all be in evening prime time.... but the track and field finals and the swimming finals are all going to be between midnight and 3..... bugger!!!

BBC4 is a confusing location for it though. The swimming has the potential to affect work so I may not see the finals.

Unfortunately britain seem intent on backing a rider with no one day experience who has only ever won summit finishes or individual time trials It'll be interesting to watch, I back Nibali certainly the way he rode the tour suggested he was targettig today

"Why didn't we have anyone in the 100 m relay men ? Did they have a team and didn't qualify or die r they get knocked out ? " They're not good enough. Ben Proud and Duncan Scott qualified for individual 100m freestyle but just barely. I don't think GB will be able to win the 4x200m free as well.(they have a team and will be competing as reigning world champion). Bravo Peaty and Jazz Carlin.

"Massive well done to Adam. Huge result and will hopefully boost confidence of the rest of swim squad and team GB. " Really pity Hannah Miley as she missed the bronze by the narrowest of margin. GB might get a silver (hopefully) through Siobhan O'Connor in 200 medley, a silver/bronze through Jazz Carlin in 800m free and fingers-crossed silver/bronze from Fran Halsall in 50m free. Can't really see any other potential medal but I'm happy if they just perform well. Waiting for the 100m free to see Ben Proud's and Duncan Scott's form to see if GB's 4x100medley has any chance of a medal.

" I thought the road race route was totally Crap tbh and someone should be held accountable for what was a very dangerous course. " i actually disagree..... the course itself was fine, actually it made for some really good racing and in the end produced some great finishes... the problem was the final descent and the drop offs on the sides..... if they put proper barriers all the way down that descent there is no way the cyclists can take the risks......

" I just find it odd that they couldn't find 7 players who can play at roughly the same standard we see from England ladies (current world champions). Some of them clearly don't understand the full rules. Trying to play from offside positions and the captain starts arguing with the referee about a tackle in the air saying "she didn't tip her" - irrelevant, you can't tackle someone in the air, basic rules!!

I do know what you mean about the second yellow but the rules are clear. Even the first try is piss poor defending. Look at the full back, when you are closing someone down on that side of the pitch you line up your inside shoulder to their outside shoulder so you will get your body across theirs and have your head in the right position for a high impact tackle. The danger is of course that they then step inside you but that just means you have to re-adjust your stance. Irrespective, you close down the easiest route for them first (inside you) and then worry about the more difficult step inside (outside you). The full back does the bloody opposite and the NZ lady basically runs in a straight line unchallenged.

"The 15-a-side team has now largely gone professional. This lot aren't and it shows. Does being paid make you better though? You either know what you are supposed to do or you don't. I used to play for Derby 2nd XV and I had to pay subs for the pleasure! Well 7's is an incredibly tough game physically so I could forgive their fitness levels being lower as amateurs. You do make more mistakes when you are tired but not the kind of mistakes that I'm ripping on them for. " Hopefully they will lean and become better for it though

"that womens rugby 7's final was brutal... i thought a punch up was going to break out...." GB managed to get hammered by a team they'd already beaten. Seems they are choke artists like the men's football team.

"that womens rugby 7's final was brutal... i thought a punch up was going to break out...." Indeed, much higher quality game where tries were created from good play and skill rather than piss poor defending

Seems they are choke artists like the men's football team. " More poor defending and stupid penalties. The captain was yellow carded for the most obvious deliberate knock on I've ever seen. In Canada's 2nd and last tries they just literally walked through the GB defence.

"Japan won against new zealand in the rugby, good win." Japan have been improving and playing some awesome 15-a-side rugby, it's great to see them continue the success here.

"Cheering on the gymnastics team, and looking forward to the synchro diving at 10 pm Gymnastics here too, not looking like medal contenders though." No, I'm watching the gymnastics now. Louis Smith really cocked it up yesterday. He had one job to do and he fluffed it. Why do the women have music for the floor routines and the men don't?

"Duncan Scott- great performance for someone so young (100m freestyle - new GB record). GB might be getting 2 silvers today - Siobhan Mary O'COnnor (200 indiv medley) and 4x200freestyle men." 2 x Silvers in the pool

"The timetrialling could be interesting in this weatheri" yep.... like the course layout with the two minor climbs on each loop... not happy some of it is taking place over the cobles as if someone gets a puncture which is fairly easily done.. it could take them out of contention.....

"I know the gymnasts need their energy but they always seem to be snacking between moves. How do they keep it down when they're upside down so much? " because a lot of the energy bars are actually energy gels.. so they aren't solid.....
