We usually tip hairdressers, barbers, waiting staff, cab drivers and takeaway delivery drivers unless the service has been particularly poor. I think it's just how we were brought up as I know my dad always gave people 'a drink' and would appreciate it if anyone tipped him for a job well done.
We have some friends who work in those trades and know tips can make quite a difference for them.
We've never been in jobs where people would be able to tip us but it's always nice if we receive a little gift at Christmas to show appreciation. |
