School projects I found were a bit like some fab group meets. You get one person doing most of the work and everyone else pats themselves on the back for coming in once.

Still take my breath away today and the only place in UK that feels like home - I love a small village in Germany which was my home for three years which will always be my home.

I didn't do projects at school...

Unless you count my weekly Saturday evening 'detention' punishments (while the rest of the school watched a film) of writing out 'Horatius at the Bridge' by

Thomas Babington or 'Lord Ullin's Daughter' by Thomas Campbell and 'Lochinvar' by Sir Walter Scott if my scholastic failures were not so bad...

I HATE THOSE POEMS! lol

Did you by chance add nitric and sulphuric acid together add cotton wool and leave it to dry? Or maybe you nitrated the first distillate of benzine. both of those would do damage to a science block...

Ooooo! I went to the exhibition. Did anyone else?

Mum and dad took me and my brothers on a Saturday hours queuing up (all the way round the British Museum an off down one of the streets running away back towards the West End) to be rushed through with misrable old men standing by all the interesting stuff saying "move along" and "no stopping".

Geography Teacher had us make a model of a medieval castle, with moat and drawbridge, out of plaster of paris. To teach us about the seiges, we then had to construct war engines and catafracts with which to hoy concrete marbles at the Castleford walls. I was on the team that got to undermine the foundations and weaken the structure to make the seige engines successful Love history!

In primary school I remember doing a project on the Vikings. We all had to make little longboats - I loved that project!

In secondary school, I loved all the projects I did in needlework but especially soft toys. The things I learned in that lesson have served me well up to this day.

Of course, it's 'textile art' these days so no learning how to put in a zip or make a pair of trousers - god forbid learning something useful!

Same here, did a project on the Amazon. I had an uncle living in Brazil at the time who sent me loads of information. Was completely fascinated. It was always a dream of mine to go there but ever thought that I would. Then a few years ago I got the chance and took it. It was one of the best experiences of my life - learnt about the plants and local jungle remedies, identifying animals by their calls, eating grubs, learning how to find tarantula nests and encouraging them out, tracking jaguars, fishing for piranha...... amazing!

My art teacher told me I was shite at art because I had no Intrest in drawing what she told me to,,,since studying old school technical drawing, In the last few years as a bit of a distraction from the everyday grind I have now kind of developed a style of portrait art, using ink, super sharp pencils, and a lot of ruler work. On occasion ive been asked to do peaces of art for friends and family
