not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds) |
This time, it's a drug scandal involving a British medal hope, lizzie armistead missed three drugs tests in less than two years and has successfully appealed her suspension... I seem to remember rio Ferdinand having a ban from missing a drug test.. I'm sure there are others ..
Given the furore over Russian surely it'd be better to have not selected her....or is lottery funding (dependant on medal success) too important.?? |

She appealed to CAS so not really a British decision. One of the tests didn't follow procedure so it was void. However I don't like that she's there but cyclists have the most intense anti doping testing in the world so I feel confident she's clean, just stupid |

The Russians was wholesale state sponsored drug taking,a bit like the lance Armstrong affair!.
The British one was clearly a sign of a misunderstanding on the athletes part... Surely |

Oh by the way Armstrong got away with drug taking for years despite cycling being the most rigourous for testing!
Anybody that thinks you've past a test is clean is quite clearly nieve |

Am the same, it seems theres lots taking things they shouldn't.
The Olympic dream has been spoilt some what, letting professionals compete against amateur athletes. Boxing and golf for example as well as the drugs or supplements they shouldn't be taken.
Just my opinion. |

Yeah you'd hope ...she was told by British cycling what to do, she had an advisor assigned to make sure she complied.. and when you're on two strikes you'd think there'd be a monumental effort on the athletes part not to miss another, rather than rely on a technicality... Apparently there's a few more British athletes on 2 strikes as well.. |

Certainly the "Voided" test should have been superceded by the "In Competition" test she took the next day after a UCI event.
On the other hand, she knows how this testing process works and should have managed it better, silly... but not a cheat I think.
