"Statistically no less unlikely to win than any other combination!
Equally as likely as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 being pulled
Is it? On the face of it yes, but...
Once a single number (1-9) has been drawn, there are only 8 left, but 9 of each of the other groups, (10-19, 20-29 etc), so isn't it more likely one of those will be pulled next than a single number?
Wondering about these things is what keeps me awake at night."
Not necessarily pulled in order but choose any combination of 7 numbers and the odds are exactly the same (they might be pulled 1-7 in order or 7,5,4,1,6,2,3 etc). It doesn't feel right that the odds should be the same for a consecutive 'group' but it is as likely to be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 as it is the OPs 2,3,13,33,36, 1,11 |
