I'm sure this had been done to death, but is it so bad for me to say, sorry, but you're not my type but thank you for the message. I was asked why and when I said I didn't find them attractive, was called shallow. Surely is acceptable to fancy someone to fuck them?

At least you reply! and most will say they prefer a reply even if it is to say sorry your not my type! I just don't bother as it just gets into them then asking why etc, followed by some sort of abuse! So you can't really win! And no I wouldn't meet someone I'm not attracted to! it's not shallow it's just your choice! Xx

I just used to say something along the lines of thanks for your message but you're not what I'm looking for on fab, take care etc then usually block so there is no comeback or future message from them forgetting they've already messaged you previous or pestering you to change your mind.

You were perfectly in your rights.

If you don't fancy someone you don't have to drop your knickers just because it's a sex site.

It's their problem and sadly many peoples egos can't take a knock back.

Block, move on

You have the right to fuck who ever you like and for someone to be nasty back is shallow.

If it's me and I get a message saying "no thanks" I would acknowledge there message and say thank you for the reply.

Yes of course it is your choice...you can't be expected to meet someone you are not attracted to.

And it is great that you actually reply back to the person..as a single man on here it can get disheartening to be constantly ignored. Obviously ladies on her are inundated with messages which leads them to bin and block to stay sane.

Keep replying, but don't expect the other person to always be sensible...even nice rejection can be hard to take. Expect and ignore any negative comebacks.

And I hope you find what you are looking for!

It is nice to recieve a reply even if its a polite thanks but no thanks, sadly there are to many prats on here who cant take no for an answere so I can understand just deleting a message plus you ladies get that many messages each day you would need three whole days to just relpy to one days messages. I can also understand why you ladies/couples block people your not interested in tho this does anger me for a split second untill I remember how much you have to put up with.

I wouldn't mind but if someone clearly hasn't read my profile (when I was single) and has just messages a hi or how r u or sends a Willy picthen I would just delete! But if someone had taken time to read it and attach a face pic with a nice message I would always reply even just to say no thanks! But to be honest it didn't happen very often lol x

Yes it is... I have to say this a lot, but it is usually accepted with good grace!

I usually find if they want to know why they are messers anyway so maybe just block and move on

I think sometimes people think persistence pays off.

I've had numerous messages asking why they're not for me and then further messages saying they disagree.

Makes me want to start using block more frequently X

If someone isn't for you and you have no desire to meet them, once you've sent the polite "No thanks" message, simply block them.

This way you won't get a reply and you won't come across their profile again

Male perspective if they have made a detailed message lots of effort then I think a message polite no thank you is warranted. One liners etc discarded no reply acceptable too...but realistically most don't even read just take a look at a pic and judge from that.

It's easy for you to say that. You don't get 100s a day and then the follow up replies.

I can't speak for every woman but for me, I look at the person's profile before even opening the message and if it doesn't appeal there is no point reading it especially if you have a bulging inbox!

Ive always been polite with people i dont have an interest in meeting, very easy to be polite ans say somethig like "sorry im lookjng for someone in particular"

Some people can be real nasty though and get quite abusive when you decline . . Best reply so far was. ."yea i dont think you're ready for me anyway" and . It was a guy.

Haha !

Or, how about this. Just don't send the follow up reply.

You place the burden firmly back on me and that I should block someone in case they reply but then don't people get crucified for that too?

You simply can not win and if a message is deleted without response then I'm sure you can consider that a no.

If someone has obviously read my profile I'll message but if it's a one liner and I can see the first bit usually something like 'I'm in your area....' I won't bother. If I open the message and its a copy and paste, which can be obvious (I had exactly the same message 3 times from the same guy) I won't bother. If it's a crude message title I won't bother either.

Because I can

Seems people are divided on whether or not you should reply.

I choose to just be polite and just decline.

If you were in a bar and someone asked you out. . Would you just look past them and walk off? Lol

I think not. . Hence why i choose to reply and say no thank you.

It sounds like some people think they are better or 'better looking' as it were, than the person messaging them.

I bet those people dont handle rejection well.

The long and short of it is, is as long as you comply with the site rules, you can run your profile however the hell you want. If not wanting to sleep with someone upsets them so be it, I really wouldn't give it a second thought, I'm never going to meet them anyway and I'm sure they wouldn't sleep with someone they don't want to. We're talking about the most intimate act 2 people can do together and if a complete stranger on the internet doesn't appeal then the other person should respect that.

Way too many rude bitter people who have an over inflated sense of entitlement and little respect on here. Some need to relax, chill a little and remember this is all a bit of fun never to be taken seriously. So you didn't get a reply, so what? No one died, you'll get over it, they just weren't interested. It really isn't the end of the world, its just a deleted message!

When we first came on here it was disheartening to us sending messages with notuso much as a thanks but no thanks (Have still yet to receive one) and almost made us leave.

However we met socially with a local single girl who it turned out we knew in passing. We had a drink round hers and she was reading a deleting messages almost constantly mostly I have to say immature cock pics or one liners. For every mail she deleted three or four appeared, usually crap. She's no longer on here as she got fed up with it very quickly.

So I understand not getting replies, There are still things we don't though about some.

Trouble is I guess most of the bombarding comes from the sort of guy that wouldn't dream of ever visiting the forums to read messages like this?

The "Lost in the deluge" point is valid though. From this end what do you do? Send more and become a pest or don't (and to some at least) show not enough interest as they are in effect playing the dating game.

Tbh we are going to find the Alton Towers social very interesting as at least four there we have messaged..Oddly also in the Snog, fuck, pass daily games at least two have said fuck yet have ignored our first contact previously..

"Seems people are divided on whether or not you should reply.

*sniggers*

G

G

Oh god. So now we're up our own arses because we don't reply to everyone.

Jesus.

if someone doesn't reply it's one of two reasons.

You're not their type

Or

Your message was missed because it got lost in the deluge.

Haha

I knew that would ruffle some feathers.

I was referring to people that get all uptight cos someone messaged them and they didnt like ghe look of them.

Its a free world and you can reply or not.

I just said i always reply, thy knickers seem to be in a twist about it !

I don't have any on. "

Haha touchè my lady!

i get lots of messages from single guys. . No doubt you get the same problem !

"It must be hard to say no to all the offers lol."

There is no need at all to be overrun with 100's of messages on here. This site gives you all the tools to take control of your profile so this doesn't happen but I think some thrive on the attention.

Which ones are these as I have all of my filters on? Have I missed some filters?

Block all men and search for suitable people yourself.

Then no one would be able to message me....

I didn't know you could block people like that! Ha. That'll help.

I have no issues with receiving messages.

I just don't think I have to reply to them all.

"I'm sure this had been done to death, but is it so bad for me to say, sorry, but you're not my type but thank you for the message. I was asked why and when I said I didn't find them attractive, was called shallow. Surely is acceptable to fancy someone to fuck them? "

I agree their has to be a very strong physical attraction for a instant gratification fuck or gratifying fantasy fuck but if your looking for more lets say something more regular you can be a bit less picky about a perfect face or body because personality is going to come into the equation a lot more .

after all its nearly impossible to find a perfect match physically as well as personality wise .

well it is in my experience .

"I just used to say something along the lines of thanks for your message but you're not what I'm looking for on fab, take care etc then usually block so there is no comeback or future message from them forgetting they've already messaged you previous or pestering you to change your mind."

That's far better wording, thank you, top tip!

"Yes of course it is your choice...you can't be expected to meet someone you are not attracted to.

Thank you so much. I have to admit, I miss a lot of messages. Life is too busy for me to answer everyone, but I give it a go. And thanks, I'm having fun ??

I've been rejected (I know shock horror), it's obvious why, so don't understand why anyone would ask the question. Accepting you're not for everyone on here is your first big hurdle to get over, as soon as you have, getting rejection messages or jut having your message deleted is something that's part of life on this site, just don't take it personally.

I think you have to be attracted to some one to have sex, I just couldn't do it otherwise.

"Male perspective if they have made a detailed message lots of effort then I think a message polite no thank you is warranted. One liners etc discarded no reply acceptable too...but realistically most don't even read just take a look at a pic and judge from that.

It's easy for you to say that. You don't get 100s a day and then the follow up replies.

You're not entitled to a reply just because you sent a message.

I don't politely reply to all the marketing companies texting my about personal injuries and PPi claims.

How do you know I don't get 100s a day and it's just my opinion on the subject ... That's what the post was put out for to garner opinion. Like arseholes we all have one

If you did then you wouldn't expect us to reply to all the messages we get. You wouldn't say it was warranted like my time is of no value and and my preferences don't matter.

I never said reply to all I said reply to ones who made the most effort in responding to you your needs and your profile....I doubt rejection has ever happened to you much on this site if ever. But I wonder if the roles were reversed and through some twist of fate men was in short supply on planet earth if you would be so damning on them messaging you. "

I think I can safely say I have been rejected more than most could possibly imagine and I still understand that the onus is not on the person rejecting to make the other person feel ok about their efforts.

I think it's absolutely fair. People asking "why" maybe don't get the point of a swingers site either.

If someone has said no thank you then I say - happy swinging and good luck for future

If I have been approached and not for me but have read profile then I might say thanks but no thanks

While I always respect a "no thanks" message, a lot of guys will send further messages asking why....often in the hope that they will get chatting and change your mind.

You have every right to your preferences and to choose not to chat with people who don't hold any attraction to you.

In turn they should respect a polite rejection. The fact that guys often do not is why many ladies prefer to delete and block, rather than say "no thanks". I would suggest blocking guys who cannot take no for an answer.

If I'm not attracted to them, i don't meet either - for me there has to something there for me to think....hmmm...maybe - you'll be damned if you do and damned if you don't on this site...

That is right as the filters help to reduce the msgs and yes as there are some that likes the attention as well.

The fact that you reply is very respectable indeed - if I receive a "no thanks", then I reply back wishing them all the best; I certainly don't call them shallow - I would rather be politely declined than ignored altogether (although a deleted message is likely to be part of a mass delete)!

Don't let a small number of narrow-minded idiots who spit their dummies out get to you OP!

What a load of bollox ...

If you don't like the person that messaged you just say 'sorry you aren't my type' ...

if they come back with why .. just say 'how long have you got?' .. then block

If it's a message that's clearly been written for me, I'll reply, even if to just politely decline, if it's a generic copy and paste I don't bother. If I'm not interested I then block, to save on another message in a week/month etc from someone I've no interest in. But no 1 is entitled to my time. So if I chose not to reply it's tough. I didn't ask for mail.
