depending on what tv you have, you should have a setting to programe eveything in an av setting, best look at the handbook and see if it tells you how many you can add to av settings,

im running mine on sky,dvd, surround sound and pc

I'd love someone to come to my home and sort everything electronic for me and demonstrate the short cuts on how to work it all. Manuals are so tedious.....

Ooh, I love techie questions...

The Sky+ HD box, the Playstation 3 and the fairly new-ish models of the XBox 360 all use HDMI cables for broadcasting High Definition images and sound (although you could also use an adapter to convert HDMI to DVI... but then it starts to get complicated cause DVI is video only so you have to have another way of handling the audio).

So you've got 2 or potentially 3 devices using HDMI. You now need to have a look at the back of your HD telly to see how many HDMI inputs there are on it, i.e. how many sockets you can plug an HDMI cable into. If you Google "HDMI cable" then you'll see the shape it needs to be, in case you're unsure.

Hopefully your telly will have the same number of inputs as the number of devices using HDMI - either 2 or 3 (depending upon your Xbox 360) in your case. If so, just plug one end of an HDMI cable into each device and the other end into one of the sockets on the telly. You'll be able to switch between the various inputs using your remote control.

If, however, your telly doesn't have enough HDMI sockets for the number of devices you want to use, then you've got a choice. You can use an alternative cable... For example, the Xbox 360 can also work with a VGA cable, or composite, or SCART, etc... Similarly the PS3 can work with pretty much all those different cables too. Ideally you want to use HDMI because it offers the highest resolution (so the pictures look clearer and sharper) but you can use one of the alternatives if necessary.

Otherwise, you can buy an HDMI selector, which is a small box which has multiple HDMI inputs, so you can plug all your consoles and your Sky+ HD box into it, and then one output which you plug into the back of your telly. You can then use a remote control to manage which source is fed from the HDMI selector to the telly.

Hope that helps

Toss in an optical cable and your about there.

These cables vary greatly price wise, with HDMI, Optic ebay will be your wallets friend:

If you're going for wall installation - TV Brackets can be found for 19.99 ebay tilt or upright, compared to the high street prices - £70 upright,£90 tilt.

shop around fella, high street costs for cables hdmi/optic + wall bracket = £200.00

ebay = £45.00 total cost

3 hdmi cables @ £6 = 18 pound.

1 optical cable £7

1 Bracket £20

;)
