Why are rural bus services so sparce? The car is in the garage having failed it's mot, had to wait 2 hours for the local bus service and there's only one more bus going back which is in 3 hours time. Mind you, i am in Norfolk I suppose

Durham

My guess is privatised bus services, mind you that happened ages ago. It is almost certainly due to years of cuts to local government funding.

It's a pain isn't it? People in the big cities don't know how easy they have it. London - missed your train or bus? Don't worry there will be another in literally 2 minutes. In the sticks it's every 3 or 4 hours... It is a pain and hopefully your wheels will be back on the road soon x

when i go to dorset to visit family the buses are shite....having said that i can see why....theres rarely anyone on them ,as a result they are also very expensive...£2.50 for a 10 min journey...im not sure how much i think they should be subsidised by the public purse though..its complicated..

York

Try the Yorkshire hills and dales the bus service is non existence for the most part and what service there is mon- Fri only

Once caught a bus from kilburn and I only got it because one person got off at the stop I was waiting at if he had not got off I would not of been able to get on the bus that was a summer only Sunday service it horrid up here in Yorkshire for those who can not drive due to ill health or lack of money thing is if done right they be money to be made

carrbrook stalybridge

they are so sparce bacause many of the rural villages are full of wealthy pensioners with cars or full of wealthy commuters with cars who do not need to use the bus leaving them to the school bus and pensioners on bus passes therefore making them uneconomical outside of those times unless you are lucky enough to live in a tourist trap then the frequency improves dureing the tourist season

I ended up getting a taxi to get my car as apparently the afternoon bus doesn't run during school holidays

Thank goodness for cars when you love in the middle of nowhere
