Too many to name a single favourite, the 80s was a golden age for music - sadly then leading onto the utter shit that was the mid 90s onwards. |

"Tainted Love ... Soft Cell "
The 12" version.
It was so different yet so good. It felt almost bad admitting you liked it but then everyone else did too
I do also like the Marilyn Manson version very much. Which is odd because I'm not usually one for covers. |

And of course..
Simple minds- don't you (forget about me)
In fact, the soundtracks from any Bratpack film pretty much sums up the 80's for me..
But don't be so harsh on the 90's, it got rid of poncy makeup wearing emos who thought everything miserable was ironic... It bloody wasn't, it was just damned fecking miserable.
And at least the 90's didn't have Flock of seagulls!!

Far too many to mention, as Ms G will tell you I'm stuck in the 80's but if I had to pick just one it would have to be from the band that were the biggest selling 80s singles act in the UK and the one that have lived with me from then till now.....Embarassment by Madness....a wonderful pop song with dark hidden meanings that still excites even to this day.

Alphaville - sounds like a melody
Honourable mentions go to...
Ultravox - dancing with tears in my eyes
Mr mister - broken wings
Yeah I was not old enough to live the era, but these were actually songs of my childhood as my family was 10 years behind everyone else.
