Gram Parson's songs are a soundtrack to many a babyboomer's life.

Emmylou Harris was interviewed on BBC World Service re her new album recently and even now, after all these years, there's a love in her voice for Gram which time will never diminish.

She was asked to define country music and came out with "Country music is three chords and the truth". That just about sums it up.

Didn't Paul Simon write Homeward Bound on the platform at Preston station (or was it Warrington)?

back in the early 80's I was in love with Juice Newton. Her version of Chip Taylors' "Angel Of The Morning" is still one of my favourite songs

Think it was Marilyn Montgomery who sang it the first time I heard it

I only started to listening to Gram a cpl of years ago when I started to listen to different kind of music for some unexplained reason(Jacques Brel for instance)

I love Parson's version of Wild Horses

Brel is certainly very different to Parsons.

I'm just a sucker for a good voice and, if the owner of that voice happens to be able play guitar, so much the better.

By 'play the guitar' I don't mean Clapton or Knopfler (talented c***s though they are) I mean the likes of Martin Carthy, Martin Simpson or John Martyn. The Marti/yn bit is just coincidence.

Judging by the mental age of some contributors elsewhere on Fab - Osh Kosh might be a good fit too.
