Employed or self employed?

Are you employed, or self employed?

If employed, do you work for a large company or a small business?

How do you find the atmosphere, colleagues, benefits and downsides?

I work for a family business and have total control over the planning of my days.

I have been self employed in the past and I wish to return to that eventually, I love the freedom.

I couldn't ever work for a multi-national company, the Little Hitlers and Jobsworths would just do my head in!

"Is this a survey? "

No, it's a topic which some people might like to discuss since it's Friday, it's holiday time and many people like to talk about work.

However.... there *could* be a prize for the best answer.......

I'm self employed - mostly so I can work around my son, but also because I don't like people hahaha

Neither. I was made redundant in March for the sixth time since starting my "career" and have been struggling to find something suitable ever since.

Thankfully I had the foresight to take out insurance to cover my monthly bills or I'd be selling my body on the streets... and getting asked for change from a two pound coin is degrading, even by my abnormally low standards.

Self employed.

Worked for a huge national company full of politics and middle management. Best thing I done was take the leap on my own

For what it's worth I think it's generally a good idea to work for a large company at the start of your career and then move into a small one or start your own business.

I wouldn't recommend the other way around!

I'm self employed, own business with employees.. I often wonder if life is a lot easier as an employee?....

I've never been to a job interview in all my career... I've had to conduct a few though..

Aah, after having been served far too many double sausage muffins with only one sausage on, I soon came to realise that the ability to count as high as two is clearly not a required ability for employment by Ronald.
