I've just painted a large conservatory in white gloss and now there must be a hundred flies all stuck on it.

Looks like a convention !

Probably the same reason that if I see a 'wet paint' sign it makes me want to touch it even more?

So what your saying is, if I take the wet paint sign away they won't bother?

Apparently so I was told many years ago by my science teacher at school certain types of paint fumes will attract insects and they will get high just like we would.

You have a convention of drugged up bugs going on there.

1. Because flies are dumb as fuck.

2. Because they are probably attracted to the smell of the paint.

Report me for cruelty as when it's dry I'll wipe them off leaving their legs still stuck

Her Majesty the Queen is forever wondering why there are flies stuck to the paintwork wherever she goes!

Do you know you can put a fly in you're freezer and leave it for awhile, when frozen you place it in you're hand for a couple of minutes and it will defrost and fly away

I don't think the sign will help as I don't think flies can read

Probably straight into the window which it will repeatedly headbutt thinking it can penetrate the glass.
