That's gonna make the rest of the world tremble. Although I guess the only way is up? Can't get any worse can it?
A true 'Mike Bassett' appointment for sure |

Please god Sam pick players on merit not on past reputation and who they are. How Drinkwater and Noble never got picked but Wiltshire did for the Euros still baffles me. |

Who cares, not going to win anything until we get rid of that "we won in 66" mentality, were shit.
If there was a home nations tournament, we wouldn't win that either, wales could beat us, republic of Ireland could beat us, northern Ireland could beat us, Scotland could pull off a draw lol
!y point is, get any manager in and he's not going to win anything with the players available right now, bunch of over paid prem-a-donners, no pride, no passion, all they see are endorsement money, you would have the same results if you put Boris Johnson in charge |

But watching Borris would be entertaining compared to the dross Sam will produce |

I think the problem England have is that no English managers are winners, who was the last Englishman to win your top league? Every guy mentioned in connection with the job was mediocre at best, Mid level premiership managers with a track record of avoiding relegation |

Typical English response ..knock a man down before he's given a chance. It's more popular to act popular and assume the majority will agree with you rather than think for yourself. Read his biography and then give him some time before coming to an informed decision |

I think if we wanted an English manager its the best appointment personally. We need to accept that we aren't blessed with enough high quality technical players so having a Guardiola would be pointless.
Big Sam gets a great underdog/us against the world mentality across harbouring good team spirit and work ethic. He was also ahead of the rest of the premiership on using performance analysts and specialist back room staff.
On the long ball complaints his final season at west ham he played decent football even making Downing look good as a number 10 as always as a country we would rather be pessimists and presume it'll be terrible. Let's just get behind the team and manager and realise we arent entitled to be winners at international level. |

As long as we get a manager who has the bollox to pick in form players and not pick players on reputation then Im happy. Big Sam should be given a chance - He already has a hard enough job without us fans getting on his back before he starts.
The premier league is full of world class players, the trouble is very few if any of them are English. Clubs in the top flight fill their squads with mediocre imports because half decent English players come with a premium attached.
Until the clubs are forced to field a number of players from our "mountains green" then national side doesnt stand a chance. The side also needs help from our outdated and bland FA - they need to stand up to the TV broadcasters and ensure our players have enough rest and recovery time to be fit for international duty.
When all of this happens we will be a great national side and I will have grown a 2 dick and have a million quid in the bank!

The FA it seems have learned, well, sweet FA. Completely clueless! Hodgson was the wrong choice over Harry Redknapp before and now the FA whittled it down to Sam fecking Allardyce or Steve (can you believe this shit) Bruce. It should have been Jurgen Klinsmann all day long to be appointed, he worked wonders with the USA squad in the last world cup and won the world cup as a player. What the fuck have Allardyce or Bruce ever won???? |

Northwest Greater Manchester and lancashire |
I must be the only one that thinks long balls and not the one between your legs. No skills.. He's won less than the last 5 managers and is a survival manager.. Not a winner for me |

Allerdyce and Redknapp were pioneers of bringing in over the hill and mediocre foreign players |

"Typical England fan... proper turncoats as soon as we start winning its all singing and dancing"
Not really. I don't recall seeing you post on here during England's Euro games? Even when England won against Wales many on here called Hodgson clueless, turns out they were proved right in the end. |

Well as you are counting things won as a player Bruce didn't do too badly there (not that I'd want him)
