Social drinking ?

This week I've been naughty and had a few beers most evenings.

I normally just try drink on a weekend.

I work hard and like to reward myself but when does social drinking become drinking on a school night

Do most people behave the same or are we all having drinks during the week?

Brighton - even Hove!

Normally, I only drink alcohol at weekends but this week - probably because it's been so hot - I've had a cold beer every evening after work and didn't go to the gym.

I barely drink, maybe a half or a pint every six weeks ago. The last time I got anywhere close to d*unk was my birthday in October.

And I thought this was a bars open thread

To answer you op, I(Mr) have a couple of beers most evenings, either at home with Mrs or in pub, don't have a problem with it and have been known to abstain on occasions as well!! Each to their own

......mines a cider

I don't agree with social drinking. If I'm drinking then I'm getting d*unk

As I can never afford to go `social drinking`,I am considering going T total. This way I can get a lime soda, look down my nose at everyone and save money!

I hardly drink at all and can go months without having anything

But on holiday I like a little 'stubby' of lager while sat in the sun with my book or with dinner and with the heat this week I have had a couple with dinner

I sometimes don't have a drink for weeks at a time, and then I might have a couple of drinks every night for two or three days... there's no pattern to it.

Well it seems most people like a couple of beers on a week day but when I have one it comes 5 .....hence why I try and only drink on a weekend .

With this heat it's nice to sit outside with a cold one I agree

"its only social if you do it with other people "

Does drinking while chatting on the internet count?

Hear hear, soon can become the norm if you're not careful. Although stopping does also have it's down side as well, you might find the bloke in the mirror is quite boorish and not quite gods gift

Schools out!

So we had a couple of flutes of a rosé my daughter received as a pressie. I can have one or two small glasses and not want more. If I go out I usually drive but I went to a wedding recently and had about 6 drinks over the space of 6 hours.

I have a relative who has a very demanding and stressful job. She has half a bottle of wine every evening and there is a drinking culture within the company. She had to stop going out after work for drinks because it was getting too much for her. I couldn't drink half a bottle every evening.
