So I am going for a weekend away to the Lakes this weekend for my sisters wedding...

I was wondering if anyone knows any good places to visit whilst there... In the barrow in Furness area??

Obviously not on the wedding day x

Titz Towers, North Notts

The ship museum in Barrow in Furness is great. Hardknott Pass is worth driving over the once. Windemere is really crowded and best avoided. Carlisle is surprisingly pleasant.

Make sure you actually get into the Lake District rather than west Cumbria. Langdale is stunning as are the tiny lakes villages everywhere.......I could go on as I'm a regular visitor there ??

There's a Trans group there - in Barrow in Furness - whom I went walking with. Unfortunately I cant give any numbers out on here. If you google Translakes Transvestite you'll find them xxx

I believe the council run the zoo now. No longer as interactive as it once was. Went in May, still a nice zoo but sadly it has lost some it's best features.

Dales garth falls is always worth a visit op, Google it, stunning place.

Anywhere in the Lakes! Just soak it all up.

True, in Keswick, great outdoor market there too. Wast water is truly amazing, can catch a bite to eat there also in the oldie woldie, picturesque pubs. Not sure about Cockermouth though, never tried it.

West Wales and Cardiff

Some parts of the lakes are really busy in summer.

I love Buttermere - peaceful and beautiful. One of those places that has an undefinable "something".

Barrow itself is an industrial town, so not much in the way of tourist attractions I'm afraid.

As mentioned ,there's the dock museum which is interesting but will only kill an hour or so.

Ulverston is a lovely town and has the laurel and hardy museum and some nice little shops and cafes.
