That reminds me of a line from porridge when Ronnie Barker had a dream about pans people... "Beautiful babs" he said "can't remember what her name was though !"

Just been to Butlins for the 70's weekend Brotherhood Of Man were on. As far as I know they are the only 70's band with all the original members.

in the night garden

Apparently the BBC have just done a study on BBC 4 and there are so few people watching it that they worked out if they just burned a DVD of each night's programmes and mailed them inividually to each viewer it would be cheaper than the cost of broadcasting LMAO.

Let's hope the TOTP re-runs boost viewing figures but I doubt it, I might watch though, I like old shit.

I remember Pans People but not individual names, and I dont remember being overly enthralled by them. I loved Hot Gossip though, mainly because of the clothes and hair

Id rather watch BBC4 than the formulaic crap on the ITV channels. Some of tv's best documentary's have been on BBC4. Just watched a good one on sunday; Grand prix: the killing years.

Watch pans people now and they look totally ridulous.

Mind, some of what they tried to dance to was also ridulous. lmao

I remember an interview with them and they said that sometimes they had literally a few hours to choreagraph and perfect the routines.

I still remember the one for Gilbert O'Sullivans 'Get Down' where they had to dance with dogs, TV magic lol

Well i watched the top of the pops tonight and really enjoyed it.

Rod stewart. queen, status quo, t rex etc.etc......

It made me feel bloody old and also realised we have lost so much talent along the way .

Take five random women from the forum who remember Pans People. Stand them in a row and ask them to do a classic Pans People move and I bet you a million quid they will all take a hitch like hip step to the right with their arms bent at right angles, waist height going to the left, hands flapping at the wrists in a flowing manner like a belly dancer....

What made me laugh about Pans People was the literal interpretations to the songs, lol.

I liked the Cherry Gillespie and the little Asian looking girl.

My faves were Hot Gossip though, sadly I never had a video in those days. R
