I noticed the last four Harry Potter books in a new charity shop's window, snapped them all up for a fiver, and then I popped into WHSmith and got one of the Harry Potter colouring books with 25% off so I'm a happy - yet a very nerdy - Ruby

What's your favourite recent bargain?

Somewhere in North Norfolk

A new cordless Bosch drill/driver. It was very cheap on Amazon Prime day. My previous one died a couple of years ago and I've been relying on a corded one because I've not been able to justify the cost of replacing it.

I absolutely shouldn't have bought it but it was too good a deal to ignore.

Before that it was a new babydoll.

3 innocent veg pots reduced to 30p in sainsbury's.

But...with 50p off next purchase coupons on the label. Tried to tell them I was owed a minimum of 40p, but met resistance. Any barristers in?

A very funky led touch lamp for my sons bedroom .. you can have it on a shelf or you can carry it around with you.. plus it has dimmer switches .. I looked on Amazon on Monday, saw the price so left it.. looked again on prime day and it was half price plus free posting ...

It's now in situ and looks great

A free tree!

Yep you read right; my neighbour let me cut up a tree that fell last winter in his garden. It means I won't need to spend £180 on wood for my wood burner next winter and possibly the next too!

Stag dressing table at auction for £5

Opened it and found a four sterling silver dressing set from 1927, made a nice profit on that one that was a while ago though.

Most recent was a modern Queen Anne style chaise lounge I got for £60 and flipped it for triple the next day....business has been good lately!

I gave my neighbour a free tree and all he did was whinge. It was hardly my fault it hit the greenhouse when it fell into his garden.

Theatre tickets for 5 people, off to see two shows in London next month and less than £200 for all of them, and return train tickets for £60 again for 5, so used the savings to upgrade to a better hotel
