Just back from what was supposed to be a birthday meal with my friend and her daughter. They share their birthday today and had booked an Italian for a few of us.
I arrived first for a change , two bunches of flowers in hand and took my seat at our table in a very busy room........I wanted....then some more , after 25 minutes was staring to get a bit anxious. Could kind of tell that people were glancing my way. Phoned my friend...'Oh we're not coming. I thought *** had told you'. Bloody pissed off , had to walk out still holding the flowers , am sure everyone thought I had been stood up.
On the plus side the waiter let me off payment for the Coke that I had been nursing which was kind. He did have a sympathetic tone in his voice though.
So all in all a crap tuesday and a place on my list never to re visit.

It's pretty bad and sorry that you've had that evening. I'd have felt deflated and upset, probably angry, as it's thoughtless and avoidable. I've fabbed a couple of your pics, which may help get some more positive attention. |

Mates can piss yiu off at times. Ring befire you set off next time, make sure plans not changed. My friend diedvtoday. I can't sleep. She was 41.... Don't let what happened today ruin a good friendship x |

Sorry to hear that but try and look on the positive side of things:
You have friends 
You have some lovely flowers to brighten up your house
You got a free
The worst that happened was that your friends in a mix up thought that each other had cancelled - most probably an innocent mistake if, up to that point, they had always been reliable.
I'm sure you felt uncomfortable on your own with the flowers but I'm also sure there's plenty of worse ways to spend an evening so keep smiling and today's a new day - hope it's better for you  |

You know these friends don't appreciate you enough to warrant anymore of your time
A lot more women on this site probably checked out your profile
A lot more men probably did too

Firstly thank you to everyone who has commented on this thread. I appreciate it.
As pointed out by a few I obviously do realise that there are so many worse things that can happen in life and to the lady whose friend has passed away you have my sincere condolences x
I'm sure that in the long run our friendship won't be affected by what happened. I texted to tell them and they suitably grovelled so I guess I do have the option of making them feel bad for just a little while longer
