Having been a cross dresser since my very early teens and struggled to come to terms with it for many years. Do you not think the eastenders story line off les/Christine being very harsh branding him a pervert? I'm guessing the story will develop more, for the better I hope. But as it stands it really does not give people who are struggling themselves with cross dressing much hope |

Billy would not say it given the circumstances.
The actor who plays Les is great and rising to the story - his wife who was a social worker would not be so lacking in understanding and the black mail story is going on too long as frankly not that good.
Good to see the story with popular and ordinary people. |

Not everyone agrees to cross dressing so they will say all sorts, it's the people who stand up for their right to be who they want to be whether it's to cross dress or not, well they're the ones to be admired!!! Xxx |

Say what you like about eastenders as a soap opera but the scriptwriters usually handle the themes in a very sensitive way ... ok some of them do drag on a bit but they are always well written and are based on fact, which usually involves the lead character doing research into the subject ... and it's always good to highlight such issues IMO |

I hope they show the issue in a better light. Its a life style choice .i think men who embrace their passion and express how they feel should be applauded.
We live in such a judgemental society |

The reason they do drag things out in a soap, in my opinion, is because they can add stories to it like for instance Les got found out that he was up to something & the affair came out, then a good while later, it came out that he cross dressed and had been for years unbeknownst to Birdie, then there was the blackmail........
......... in reality, it can take years for somebody to come out about being gay or that they Cross dress, whatever, these things aint going to be revealed overnight, there's so many reasons to want to avoid it, peer pressure, verbal abuse & more etc...... it just seems longer in a soap as we want to find out in a few weeks already, nobody has the patience to wait for months for it to come out in a soap.......
......... but isn't that the whole idea of a soap because you have to keep watching it because you have to know what happens, will he reveal to the world or not...... the suspense is a killer ffs!! |
