Back of Beyond

Ours just has to be Saturday night at 6pm. The Alan Carr show, he is one funny guy on the radio. We listen to him in the car on the way to meets, or if staying in, sat night telly takes a backseat until his show is over.

Andy nearly had to drag me out the other Saturday as I'd started listening to this whilst I was getting ready, he's hilarious and the banter between him and Melanie Sykes is cracking (shame the music spoils it at times!!)

Have to say, The Togmeister is sorely missed. Don't enjoy being shouted at to be woken up, so defo don't listen to Evans!

"Some today are crap, too much talk"

To be a good radio DJ, one requires a radio voice, sadly, something the majority of today's radio DJ’s are lacking

I was listening to Absolute Radio on the day of the Tsunami. the presenter, whose name escapes me now said what a terrible thing it was and how his thoughts were with the people of Japan

He then played the Talking Heads song 'once in a lifetime' which contains the lines..

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down

Letting the days go by/water flowing underground

I'm still not sure if it was a genuine mistake or he was being provocative, either way I hope he got his arse kicked

I don't listen to the radio that much any more but I think Chris Evans is good... before he was on Radio 2 he had his head well and truly up his own arse so I didn't listen to him, but he's become a lot more mellow over the years since joining Radio 2.

Talking of Radio 2, I can't stand Simon Mayo - I never liked him when he was on Radio 1, and I won't listen to Radio 2 in the evening now he's got the Drive Time slot. I can't quite put my finger on what it is I dislike about him, maybe it's his voice or his condescending manner... dunno. Either way, he's shite.

As for Radio 1 DJs, well where do I start? I realise I'm no longer in their target demographic but I'm struggling to think of any who can be classed as good. Zane Lowe gets a big thumbs down from me for being over-enthusiastic about every band he plays and oh-so-desperately wanting to be best buddies with all the famous rock stars, as do Scott Mills for just being an inane twat and the equally dizzy Edith Bowman .

Sarah Cox really gets on my tits... she's got an annoying voice, a stupid accent and she's as thick as pig shit. Whoever thought she'd make a good DJ deserves a kicking.

Chris Moyles is the top of my list of hated DJs though. He's an arrogant, self-righteous twat who surrounds himself with fawning sycophants whose only purpose is to massage his over-inflated ego during each and every show. His shows consist of hardly any music, instead Moyles prefers to regale his audience with whatever antics he got up to the previous evening whilst out hob-knobbing with the latest one hit wonder... *yawn*

Oh, and he's unfunny too.

I think I need to go and lie down in a dark room for a while now.

Pete Tong...? I don't rate him as a DJ but his choice of music is still up there with the best of them

Thats the problem with some presenters, they go too far at times.

Same as it ever was really (same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was)

Mark and Lard that used to be on R1 and then also like Mark Radcliffe in his pairing with Stuart Mchonie(sp). Shame that's come to an end.

Also can't be doing with Chris (I'm so important, let's talk about me) Moyles. Luckily he ain't got the face for TV so isn't on so much and stays on the radio.

How they get away with bragging about how pissed they got the night before when their target audience is 18 I do not know....

Sara Cox has the most annoying voice in the planet.

Ever listen to r2 before 630am when Sarah Kennedy was doing it? Oh my god. I've never heard such a stuck up bitch before, am surprised she could keep her headphones on her head she was looking down at the rest of us so much.

Now Vennessa Felps has taken that slot.... God she's awful too. If I'm on the road early now it's Greg James on 1 that I listen too, he's not too bad.

I do like the Steve Wright show though, that team are quite good. Plus, always a good thing if I've finished work while he's on, means I've had an early finish!

S.
