That was a very good attempt OP at getting pointers by asking the question! I applaud you 
In my experience it's a little bit of a perfect storm, it's the original message tied into the person being receptive to the message at that time... I've sent nothing messages and been successful, then sent well worded ones that fell flat |

"'Hi' works well, no point sending a paragraph, just for the recipient to not read or delete the message.
'Hi' NEVER works with me, most 'Hi' messages also have crap profiles!"
most of the women who've messaged me first, which isn't many, have just sent 'hi', I don't just use that though. |
