I hate people been killed !
But I couldn't help feeling a slight moment of joy when I read a matador had just been killed in a bull fight ! |

I think joy may be pushing it, I am sadly indifferent to it as those are the risks and the suffering to the bull is horrid

Matadors spend years trying to perfect their skills, unfortunately goring resulting in permanent injury or death is something they accept as a risk when participating in such events.
But never good to gloat over someone else's misfortunes or death regardless of whether people agree with the concept of bull fighting or not. |

No sympathy.
My sympathy is all for the poor bulls.
My god! I think i actually agree with you.
Well said.
Serves him right.

I assume you haven't in the past then lol , still that's what makes the world go round
Perhaps Joy was strong but It did make me smile !
Ironically now , maybe they may think of banning this Vile Spectacle Now !
It certainly isn't Sport ! |

I'm not gloating. I merely have no sympathy.
Not caring a jot is not the same as deriving pleasure. |

I'd liked to see it banned , but if they really think it's sport they could use a robot Bull. !
I'm sure that would be possible !
But I bet they won't just like fox Hunters don't want to drag hunt ! They like killing ! |

No sympathy for the matador at all, in fact I think I'm glad that a bull has won for a change. I do have sympathy for all the animals treated this way, they have no choice, and even by killing the matador, he still loses. I've changed my mind... I am glad the matador died.... He's a bully and has had his come upance. |

"What if a chicken farmer fell into his own plucking machine?
Does he torture his chickens before he kills them?"
Well ....... they hang them upside down on a conveyor.... electrocute them by passing them through a stunner, slit their throats and then shove em in a spinner that plucks off the feathers...
Hope the stunner works..... |

I don't agree with bull fighting & abuse of animals at all. I will however say that I do feel sorry for any family he left behind, especially if he had young children. I know I wouldn't like to hear people saying "good riddance" about a close family member during my time of grief.

Any blood sport comes with the risk of death so the Matador dying is a natural part of what could happen. Just a shame that bull fighting is still a thing, terrible practice and completely from another era. |

I certainly wouldn't rejoice over the guys death but hey "you play with fire...". I expect they killed the bull anyway, as a 'dangerous' animal.
Bull fighting is bad enough but did you ever see what goes on in sone rodeos in America? Check out a website called 'Shark' (Showing Animals Respect And Kindness).
I wouldn't shed a tear over some of those cowboys getting a bit of Karma, either. |

The matador has a choice to step into the bull ring and is fully aware of the risks, the bulls have no choice and have no idea what they are walking into. The bull should be retired into a field with 17 virgin cows for winning his fight fair and square but I fear it will just be used in another fight and killed mercilessly like all the others. |

I struggle to understand it as it's very alien to the culture I grew up in, but Matadors do seem to have a very respectful relationship with a bull, and it's a very honour related sport, by all accounts to those close to the sport.
And any avoidable loss is a shame, no matter if it's human or animal. I'd be intrigued to know how many people loathe the idea of a bull dying for pleasure, in comparison to eating any meat they wish after seeing livestock 'care' conditions etc. |

No but I'm sure given the choice of seeing their days out in a field with a randy champion bull or being shipped off to the abattoir they'd choose the field every time. |

This..
if you wanna see a proper bull fight, watch the 1950s movie Quo Vadis..no weapons..muscles against horns. Bull lost there but you get the point..
the idea of swords, i imagine, is to level it somewhat and give the matador 'horns'...but unless its naked man against naked bull..and no drugs..and unless you are Mike Tyson or a Klitchko youre fucked. End of. Ban it. |

100% disagree with that
Chinese had been harvesting bear bile for years, have you seen the conditions they live in?
Tigers have been hunted for years to be used in medicine, almost to the point of extinction
I could go in but you get my point
Both of the above are Chinese tradition both crimes against nature in my humble opinion
Being a tradition is not a reason to allow these crimes to continue its upto the whole world to stand together to help those who can't help themselves
Again my opinion
And I for one will judge anybody who needlessly harms or kills an animal in the name of entertainment |

That's how I feel
I'm not glad he's dead
It is sad, sad that he was in that ring putting himself in that position
But at the end of the day it was his chosen 'sport', he knew the risks and he took them
So although I'm not glad he loss of his life, or the grief of the family he has left behind, he certainly does not get my sympathy |

I wasn't actually aware the bull was killed at the end of a bullfight.
