Not sure it's still common but I love a girl wearing a full length slip under her dress. Ultimate attire for a meet.

I do very occasionally, usually if it's a jersey dress and I'm wearing stockings, it prevents static and that unattractive cling.

Also it's very difficult to find attractive slips, I recently resorted to making my own waist slip from silk.
