Hopefully this'll be the shot in the arm Welsh football needs. Suddenly everyone's a football fan. In Lyon there was a high proportion of rugby shirters come out of the closet with some success. Hopefully most will stick with them when the lean times return. Let's not forget that it's been hard to even sell out the Cardiff City Stadium for most International matches (let alone the Millennium) but hopefully the feel good factor will see the start of a golden era for the Welsh. It's a tricky World Cup Qualifying group so all the support they can get the better | |||

Despite years of medicority I'll wager the England have the highest average home attendance of the World Cup Qualifiers across Europe - yet again! The team is crap - of that there's no doubt. I'm happy for the Welsh to have their moment in the limelight. Good luck to them. They "did a Denmark" or even a Greece (well actually they didn't, as those two actually won the thing! Ok they did a 'South Korea' then and made the semi's) unexpectedly and have every right to enjoy their moment in the sun. Party hard and enjoy it as it might be a long time before it happens again.
England, once more, disappointed. C'est la vie. Used to that, in fact this is the first tournament that it didn't actually hurt me when we lost. I actually laughed at how bad it was.
Ultimately we're both losers and won nothing.
Anyway - WC Qualifiers up next and we go again. Slate wiped clean.

Personally I'm looking forwards to England v Scotland in November and the Welsh have the Republic of Ireland in their group.
