It looks like a round hazy rainbow around the sun.... Does anybody know what I'm on about?

I'm still in shock the sun is actually out, I don't want to draw attention to it incase it disappears again

Hampshire / Herefordshire

It is a halo. They are a sign of high thin cirrus clouds drifting 20,000 feet or more above our heads. Nice to see though.

Not seen it but probably a sun halo from how you describe it - take a look on Google and all the science is explained
