I have just brought a camera and really want to get into photography. I was just wondering if anyone around the Peterborough area would be up for a photoshoot. Completely free of charge of course.
I need the practice and I know how expensive shoots are so someone could get some decen photos of themselves or then and a loved one or with kids or whatever really. I just need practise shooting living things and my kids are getting bored haha
Send me a message of interested and we can talk.
Thank you |

"You want to "get into" photography but you think you're up to doing shoots for people?
There's a bit more to it than point and click "
Depends on what you are pointing |

It's a good angel but one that has been done many times before. I have an interest in photography and have had for the last 20 years but unless I was willing to show my work in my profile I wouldn't expe t anyone to meet for a shoot based on the fact that I've just bought new equipment. A bagbof carrots is as helpful as a model if you're just trying to improve your skills. Show more artistic shots of yourself and people will gladly take you up on your offer, showcase your skills |

When you are learning what you are doing, a model will be more of a hinderence than a help. If you are not confident with your camera or what you want to achieve, you will be much worse when someone is waiting for you to tell them what to do.
Try honing your craft of still lifes to start with, then try something like photographing smoke. When I started I was self taught, learning what I could from magazines and books. These days there are plenty of youtube videos, websites and forums to help you to improve. |

Don't go straight to models if that is the kind of photography you want to get into. Most models have a certain way of being shot, if you are dead set on model photography start small shadow someone if they let you, go for a candid shoot over anything in a studio, this really gets you thinking about framing your shot and lighting without the awkward of have a model try and run the shoot. Find a camera club or any club for that matter and ask politely if they minded you there. Hell maybe get the folks to get you some lessons. Or failing all of the above, street photography? |

Check with a local photography studio, if they hire, they will set up the lights for you (which is all what photography is about )and for an extra fee will hire a model in, (Which will look pretty and pose without direction)
and by all accounts do not touch the model or ask if they do "extras" and never push their levels
Don't bullshit your not Terry Richardson or want to act like him.

But practice and practical, will always work faster than reading and studying.
Why not start shooting first? Learning from mistakes is where you begin in life.

Maybe I should elaborate sorry I am not looking for a model or to take shoots of women in their pants or anything like that I am looking for people who want a few decent photos for a profile pic or for a family who don't have any money and would love some good photos of them with partners or their kids.
It's perfect practice for me and it is good for them. I have always wanted professional photos of my kids but could never afford it if someone said to me look I have a decent camera I'll do some for you I would have jumped at the chance.
I will put some photos on my profile for people to see. I have taken some real beauties of animals, plants and landscapes but these things do not interest me. For me a photo is about capturing memories not havin a photograph of something I can get off google |
