...our rosemary sauted potatoes are made from the waxiest of potatoes grown in moon dust from the apollo missions,and left to mature on feather pillows. They are then coated in the finest egyptian rosemary, cut and sliced by the milk soaked hands of virgins with tiny little silver scissors then tossed in the purest of oil from the bruised grape pips of Tuscany.
Our prime fillet beef is cut from holy cows 120 days old who lived in velvet lined cowbarns sucking feed through gold straws while having mozart played to them day and night. These prime steaks are encased with hand crushed peppercorns from the fields of cambodia and patted onto the edges by little fairies who blow the excess off...
Sorry Mr Marksie Sparksie but the rosemary was overpowering and couldnt cook due to the size of the potato cubes and the steaks were covered in ground hard peppers not softened crushed ones that tasted like sawdust even on a flash fried almost blue steak. It was a very gritty meal and not in the nicest sense. Not impressed with my after shopping 'convenient option'. Glad I didnt get a pudden....
Who do you think makes the finest range of half prepared food? Tell us your faves and the others we should avoid like the plague...

My estranged wife did a nice line in half prepared food and she should be avoided like the plague. Her conversion to sushi and fugu in particular is all starting to make sense now. |

I think M&S overall do the best range of semi prepared meals, there are some dishes that are stronger than others.
Waitrose semi prepared are also a pretty good quality.
Personally I wouldn't entertain the idea of buying a semi prepared steak, at the end of the day it doesn't take any longer to buy a raw fillet steak and fry it.
Splash of cream and teaspoon of grain mustard in the pan while the steak is resting and you have a sauce.

Fillet was off the meat counter - just covered in peppercorns. The other steaks that were left were too big. In retrospect I should have bought one and cut it in half.... the tatties were a lazybones - I usually cook from scratch so in a way it confirms thats always the best way. I dont shop there regularly but needed some odds and sods and it was on way home - trip to nearest decent supermarket would have cost a fortune in petrol ..... we have to take so much more into consideration now |

naaa not interested, cook me own, good lamb stew, pressure cooker 20 mins and on the table. Cook enough for a couple o days, free some if you like.
Do it yersel, quality food and money saved.
This is not just food, it is real food. |
