Not being paid wages, not getting any answers... Help please?

Just curious if anyone can point me in the right direction with this...
I very briefly had a new job in May & June. I was - note, was - meant to get my first and only wage from them on the 10th of last month which never arrived... the main issue was I use a credit union account and they needed a reference number which they received. In the end the company - and it's a very popular large retail company - said they can't help and it's the fault of the credit union, and they've said they can't either. I left the job almost four weeks ago now and I haven't received a p45 either, which feels dodgy.
Any advice on what to do? I'm considering just taking the issue to the CAB and seeing if they can help. |

did their payroll say it has left and not returned as an unallocated payment ( without the reference number ), most often they bounce back if they can't be allocated
is it sitting in the credit union's account and thy can't locate it without the reference number
I would ask the employer when it left their account, what their sort code and account number is and did it go via bacs. Then give that information to the credit union to search for it. |

Get the employer to provide you with a copies of the payments or payment instructions with their confirmation that the money has left their accounts.
When you got that then visit your Credit Union and let them sort it out.
However if the ex employer isn't giving you the needed information send a recorded letter saying you are going to have a solicitor deal with the issue and give all to a solicitor. Many out there how will deal with this and bill the ex employer for the time "wasted" by them |

Perhaps try your local branch of acas? |

If they can't prove payment to the account details given you can take them to an Employment Tribunal, although that may initially cost you some money but you get it back when successful. |

Yeah, I was told it had bounced back by the store but the company's HR department said it hadn't bounced back at all. The credit union have looked into it a couple of times but they've said that they definitely haven't received it. |

I am assuming that the credit union has one account hence the need for the reference? In that case it won;t have bounced back, it will be an unallocated payment sitting in the account. A payment only automatically bounces back if the account details don;t exist. The credit union may return the payment if there is no reference but I'm certain this would be a manual process and they should know they did it.
Have you checked that your former employer was given the correct details? That may explain it.
But if you gave them incomplete details I'm not sure what you can do

best thing is send ex company a copy of your bank statement showing no entry for the pay day. also by law you should get a P45 from ex company so you can ask for that as well if you need it.

This is correct, I am a payments expert its my job 
Their is no way this will bounce back, it will be sitting in the credit union suspense/unallocated account
with no reference, call your bank and give payment date, amount , they will soon find it |
