They've gone and arranged the perfect weather
Do you still have egg and spoon races? The sack race ?
Wheelbarrow ?
And parent and child?
Winners even ?
Or is it all boring and PC ? |

Absolutely none of that at my daughter's school. It was more circuits with some relay races thrown in |

what's winning really though? being born with a body that can carry and egg on a fucking spoon across a field faster than anyone else?

Mine are adults now, me and my friend used to cheer ours on, much to the disgust of the other parents. It is about taking part but the winner should be praised, the school praises the brainy ones and should celebrate the sporty ones. |

"They've won the egg and spoon race which is so much better than not winning it "
sometimes i think the school just are getting some kind of sadistic revenge on the kids, making them think carrying an egg on a spoon is an achievement. |

I manage my own sports business and we arrange sports days at schools.
We're traditionalists and do Sprints, Egg and spoon, sack race etc.
We practice beforehand to make sure that children are put in groups to ensure that its as competitive as we can get it. Those not as fast in sprints will do egg and spoon etc. |

"Ive been part of two adult sports days - competition was fierce, costumes ludicrous, and there was much evidence of cheating and performance altering alcohol use! ! "
I think they should bring back It's a Knock Out !
With modern sets it'd be a hit and much better than Eurovision |

All very competitive at my kids sports day. Winners and loser even for the little one who run for their class and year 3-6 for houses. Great for them learn to win graciously and not sulk at losing. As so may kids seem to do these day. As for the dads race we have a professional footballer who has 3 kids at the school. Just no point entering for 10 years. Man he is quick. |

What's passing exams really though? Being born with a brain that can recite things that can be Google in seconds when you put a normal person in front of a computer?
What have they actually achieved there? |
