not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds) |
I keep hearing about universities producing various studies about stuff that on the outside seem rather ....Errr a waste of time.
So as a guy who wastes a fair bit of time in the forums... I thought why not get paid for it.
I had some beans yesterday and I've a certain amount of hot air escaping periodically, ... as methane is a worse greenhouse gas than co2... Are vegetarians bad for the planet.. government funding here I come.
What's your government funded study going to be |

Hitler was renowned for his 'clear the room' farts... it makes me giggle when I imagine a brainwashed nazi excitedly getting to meet their hero and then feeling their eyes burn as they get closer to him! |

Cows make a heck of a lot of methane (4 legged ones that is), so your average red meat eater causes more gaseous planetary damage due to the production of their food. Vegetarians don't cause so much because vegetables don't fart when they are growing. XXX |

"Does anyone know if fish can fart? "
I actually know this
In the human sense of the word fart no though most fish do use air to inflate and deflate their bladder to maintain buoyancy which is expelled either through their mouth or gills which can be mistaken for a fart. |

Except the damage done in slash and burn for Soya bean production exceeds anything done by cattle. |

The fact that the soya is produced by slash and burn deforestation giving a single crop then leading to erosion, pollution, etc .
Soya for feed is nowhere near the amount its purported to be.
The huge increase is mostly due to the worlds sudden fashion for it as an alternative to meat.
Have a look at just how many things it's actually in.
It's not just veggie stuff. |

Deforestation can't fully be blamed on vegetarians; more greed and bad planning from producers. It doesn't matter where soya is produced, whereas any where animals are farmed is going to produce unwanted bi products while consuming vast resources. |

Not denying that greed, poor management, etc are involved.
Merely pointing out that the argument of it being because of cattle falls flat very quickly when the facts are looked at properly rather than what's printed in the Daily Fail, etc. |

Everyone knows it's the green due to the red soaking up the initial light spectrum and thus increasing its density. |

"Which hand is more commonly used to wank, left or right?"
In my case both.
There was a study once that said cows actually do more damage to the ozone, due to the amount of methane given off by them. |

In a school lesson I remember a factor of 10 for each trophic level that food passed through. So a huge amount of equivalent wasted vegetable energy used to create the next level, eg beef meat. If you also factor in the harvesting and transportation energy, onto the next level, the carbon footprint skyrockets. Ok, not methane but animal life and waste produces tons of the stuff.
Locally sourced or home grown veg doesn't have those wasteful processes going on. No shipping around the world or high processing impacts.
We also have a huge selection of plant matter to eat that isn't all a heavy fart powering production line. |

Again that's the fault of vegetarians for not helping us to eat all those tasty methane producing cows....more meat eaters=less cows |

Heck for a minute there I thought you meant the soya was getting slashed on, I certainly wouldn't want to eat it then.
XXX
Ps I am not a vegetarian
