it would seem a paradox if people or couples were devoutly religious but still had a swinging lifestyle...just wondered if any of you are Christians or whatever and go to church etc but still enjoy sex outside of marriage ? |

I'm sort of toying with starting my own religion once I've taken over the world. Obviously I would be the figure head. So I don't see anything wrong with swings and worshiping me at all. |

I come across this at chams ... this lady crying out side loo .....her husband was off playing and she said she could not was to do with her religion .. she was a black lady i never asked where she was from or about it as felt never new her that well...... but i did think why go to a swingers club never got to see her Husband but did make me mad thinking he just left her . |

I would have to argue that everything about swinging goes against the teachings of most mainstream religions.
Would be a major contradiction to swing and claim to be devout in the traditional sense.
But then again, there are worse things done in the name of religion. |

Religious people steal, murder, maim, torture, covet, corrupt and dupe their fellow man in dozens of different ways. Same as non religious people do. Swinging seems pretty tame to single out as one of the no no's in life to me  |

I know religious people are not interested in the opinions of non-believers and Im always surprised at the number of non believers so well read about religious practices.
I don't like Top Gear it doesn't appeal to me nor do I understand its appeal to others but I don't go and slag off their Jeremy Clarkson god and his teachings. I just don't watch Top Gear. |

Exactly don't do that. The point is its not nice to knock anyones religion. I was being sarcastic that in most threads about religion I only see the same old jokes and stereotypes aimed at the christian faith.
You made a comment not to knock faiths and in the next piece were knocking mormons.
How about saying the people I came across in one church were very unwelcoming. You may get a different reception in another church of the same religion. |

I am a devout atheist (or Darwinist) no religious crap from me thank you....I go through life being kind to people and animals..let a fly out of the window rather than kill it (another 3 fly in ! )and been known to lift snails of the path and put them safe lest they get trodden on ! I always help someone in the street if there struggling and support my fellow human beings...if there is a god and he deems it that I should spend enternity in damnation

If you shag another mans wife with his [and her] permission and approval as it gives them pleasure and satisfaction is that a sin? Or would it only become a sin if subsequently you developed feelings [love/jealousy/avarice] for the other mans wife thereby coveting her. Or is it only a sin in the planning stage? You see the profile, you covet her, you make contact, you meet, you cease to covet her? In this case would swinging actually serve to remove the desire or need to commit sin in this way.

Is that a question to me? If so I don't shag other peoples spouses.
As for my beliefs in life - they are based on many things. The comfort blanket is your analogy not mine. I don't seek comfort from anything in life unless its tangible and standing in front of me and able to offer a touch and a smile.
As for faith within a church or faith outside of church its something you accept as naturally as the nose on your face or not at all. Or you may ponder and debate changing your mind as life goes on. My point is and always will be, you don't knock or be scathing about anyones choices in life. Just avoid those that don't interest you. I didnt write the bible but I can quote loads of examples about concubines and polygamy in a host of religions.

You have totally misread my piece no it is most definitely never good to slag anyones religion off because if you do they tend to shun you - especially if youre questioning their pracrices in their own church. Churches clearly state what faith they follow on the signs outside of the door and their doctrin is built up on those beliefs. You dont belief then you are always a guest if you choose to enter. You can't go into anyones church and tell them their religion is wrong. If their theology is one religion and one religion only then they will preach sin about other religions or there would just be one faith fits all. |

Being serious here. We actually met a single guy a couple of weeks ago who was deeply religious. To the point he actually works for the church and holds a degree in religious studies, he attends church several times a week.
It in no way affected how he felt about swinging with us as a couple or even another man's wife, he could seperate the two activities. The only downer for us is that he cannot meet at Easter weekend  |

The coffee smells great.I don't go to church love. How about when the police smash a peodo ring that includes teachers, doctors and many other eminant proffessions. Does that mean all teachers or doctors should be tarred with the same filthy brush.
I think you know the answer to that. I was an alter boy when I was a kid and amazingly I was never buggered by the priest.

my brother is a vicar and he turned up at a club once when i was there with a lady that wasnt his wife never seen him go so red we just said we havent seen each other here and carried on but not in same room i made sure i was locked away

There are tens of thousands of Catholic priests all over the world, just because a tiny minority act in this way it is hardly an indication that the problem is pandemic.
In fact there are far more proven cases of Teachers being involved in paedophilia acts in the UK than there are Catholic priests, in fact most abusers of children turn out to be family members.... |

I agree but the thread was about religeon NOT education, youth workers etc. AND we arent trying to push our religeous views down anyones throat just having a laugh . Two world wars were fought so people could express free speech and if you dont agree with that go and stand on hyde park corner with "hook" and have a rant about "religeon" . CBA to read the whole thread but my view is that pretty much any practicing religious person from a religion that has any sexual rule bounderies is a fucking hypocrite if they are a swinger.
But then the most promiscuous person I ever knew (in vanilla life) was a marriage wrecking god fearing christian. So, meh. |
