Plus size little black dress.

Jump to: Newest in thread

Stockport

I have a hen do coming up and the dress code is classy black dress.

I don't have one and don't know where to start looking for one, I'm not really a dressy kind of person.

I don't want to look ridiculous, all the other ladies going are very slim, petite types, so I don't want to stand out anymore than I already will do.

Can anyone help me?! Please x

I've got mine from Jasper Conran, Gok at Sainsburys, Next, New Look, and if you're strapped for cash check an app called Ali Express. Bought a few from there. Same as eBay but lots cheaper as middle man is cut out. Just takes a while to arrive. I'm size 18 & XXXL-XXXXL fit me.

Have a fab time x

There's no way id just wear a little black dress, im not built for such clothes and im awear of that, in all honestly if i wasnt allowed to wear what i felt comfortable in i wouldnt go but not everybody is like me so my suggestion would be to buy a nice wrap to go over your shoulders that you can pull round the front and cover the bits you dont like

Take a look at Pepperberry. Not cheap but amazing fit. All dress sizes come in a curvy, very curvy of super curvy option. Fits lovely and really shows off curves in the best way xx

I have thought about not going, it's not my kind of night at all, but I'm the bridesmaid and the bride is my children's aunt. I don't think I can get away with not showing up

The wrap idea is good though, thanks x

I'd take this view too. I'm really not a 'dress' person so I'd be doubly uncomfortable all night.

Simply Be have some lovely dresses so might be worth a look. Its a shame you're not closer cus i have a skater style black dress. It's not "posh" but i have worn it to a variety of things and it can be dressed up with jewellery and shoes etc. Amazon might also be a good place to look.

A world of my own

I love dresses. My favourite little black dress is a gok wan from Sainsburys. I bought it a few years back and it's so flattering.

I agree with what the others have said about the right underwear.

And definitely make sure you remember to match your lips and nail varnish to finish the look.
