I have a hen do coming up and the dress code is classy black dress.
I don't have one and don't know where to start looking for one, I'm not really a dressy kind of person.
I don't want to look ridiculous, all the other ladies going are very slim, petite types, so I don't want to stand out anymore than I already will do.
Can anyone help me?! Please x |

"Yours sell some lovely dresses and there are several online shops too x
Oo, never heard of them, I'll have a look.
Thanks x"

I've got mine from Jasper Conran, Gok at Sainsburys, Next, New Look, and if you're strapped for cash check an app called Ali Express. Bought a few from there. Same as eBay but lots cheaper as middle man is cut out. Just takes a while to arrive. I'm size 18 & XXXL-XXXXL fit me.
Have a fab time x |

There's no way id just wear a little black dress, im not built for such clothes and im awear of that, in all honestly if i wasnt allowed to wear what i felt comfortable in i wouldnt go but not everybody is like me so my suggestion would be to buy a nice wrap to go over your shoulders that you can pull round the front and cover the bits you dont like |

I have thought about not going, it's not my kind of night at all, but I'm the bridesmaid and the bride is my children's aunt. I don't think I can get away with not showing up
The wrap idea is good though, thanks x |

I'd take this view too. I'm really not a 'dress' person so I'd be doubly uncomfortable all night. |

Simply Be have some lovely dresses so might be worth a look. Its a shame you're not closer cus i have a skater style black dress. It's not "posh" but i have worn it to a variety of things and it can be dressed up with jewellery and shoes etc. Amazon might also be a good place to look.

I have just bought a lovely lbd from boohoo.com plus size range. Have been very impressed with the whole experience. The dress fits well and I usually struggle to get things to fit around my cleavage |

A world of my own |
I love dresses. My favourite little black dress is a gok wan from Sainsburys. I bought it a few years back and it's so flattering.
I agree with what the others have said about the right underwear.
And definitely make sure you remember to match your lips and nail varnish to finish the look. |

Can anyone help me?! Please x don't ever not go because you're worried about your size you can find great clothes in 18/20, I shop in next new look, simply be, yours, marisota they have loads of choice I tend to go for something with sleeves as not a fan of my bingo wings, but v neck as have good boobs, dress the areas you like, oh and Spanx are great for flattening lumps and bumps.
Never ever miss out on life because of insecurities one life live it!!

Sainsburys are discontinuing the Gok range, the last collection is in stores now (i work on the clothing section in my local store)
There isn't anything i would call a classic LBD at the moment, only black sun dresses
