I have a cwtchty blanket.
It was crocheted by a good friend of mine who is a doula, and was made whilst she was attending to women in labour. It has seen seven births, and we cwtch under it when poorly or feeling sad or blue. It's a proper granny blanket that's going to be around for a long time. |

"I have a few. My sofa blanket is the best. One of these days I am going to knit my own."
I knitted my own. I used a pattern where the blanket, when folded correctly, fits into a knitted pocket and becomes a pillow |

That's some advanced knitting shit right there! I can only dream of such skill; I can knit squares and rectangles and that is it. |

My sister made the same thing in patchwork. It's really useful. |

I got a big blanket with foot pockets in as a joke for Mothers Day. The joke is on her because I love it. Sadly whenever it makes an appearance the dogs love it too. |

When does a blanket become a throw? Or even a rug? Rare on beds nowadays now we all have 'continental quilts' as my Mum calls them. Perhaps blankets will come back now we are brexiting. They are useful in a big old house, on the sofa. Especially in our 'summer' when the heating is off. The National Trust picnic rug, with its waterproof back, is good to keep in the car. |
