That is so spooky, I was going to start a thread to see if men thought being called cute was seen as an insult or a compliment.
I use it as a compliment |

It think it's like any word, negative connotations are easy to build or develop. It can be personal preference based upon emphasis of a personal trait that they think is unwanted or belittles. People don't want to be cute, they want to be sexy, gorgeous or beautiful. A young girl is cute, a lady is not |

Like with any adjective.. its subject to personal preference how we describe ourselves. I wouldnt use the term negatively.. think its a shame that people see the term 'cute' in that way.
For me i use it as i do have dimples, rounded eyes and a small nose, fuller cheeks and i can be at times quite cheeky which gives me that youthful edge. I am young ish (28) |

See, I realise that I don't fall into the handsome, gorgeous or sexy category, I am however, pretty damn adorable so I embraced it. |

Looks like my thought was soundly kicked around the thread then!
Words have power and certain words mean different things to different people, I resent being called 'nice' as it's such a bland word |
