An explosion and gunshots have been heard at Ataturk Airport in the Turkish capital
Many injured & being transported via taxi to hospitals |

Awful night, finally got through to my Son & Girlfriend this morning they had flew out hours before this happened. I can't even contemplate what it must be like for the poor people who never get that phone call. Cowardly Bastards |

I've used this airport a number of times and security at it is far tighter than we have in most European airports. Bags are scanned before they are allowed into the building, and the first reports are that the attack started in this area where there are normally queues. |
