.... can do better. In the course of your work, hobbies or interests what short cut tips do you have that make instructions/training provided to the novice makes you laugh at the complexity of them.
I've just helped a neighbour plant some onion sets and it says plant two inches down with the shoots poking just above the soil using a trowel. The sets themselves are only 3/4 inch in size so impossible to have a hole that big and the shoot showing above soil level! Also says trim any long shoots off with scissors prior to planting so birds don't pull them out. There she was with trowel scissors and tape measure at the ready and some netting to keep the birds off.. until I said...
Take your set bite any long shoots off shove in soil and water. If the birds get at them - shove the sets back in back in! Birds dont eat onions lol.
