Can't fault Led Zep but have followed Robert Plants solo career and its hitty missy for me.
Just listened to some of his stuff with Band of Joy and theres one track called You Can't Buy My love which is so Beatlesque! Not only in the title (Money Can't buy Me Love) but the beat - it sounds just like She's a Woman also by the Beatles.
Considering George Harrison got slated for My Sweet Lord sounding like He's So Fine I think this is well into the realms of plagiarism.
What songs sound like they've been nicked from another artist to you? |

Teenager/Watch That Man also sounds like My Name is Tallulah from Bugsy Malone |

The way i hear it many guitar based genres often follow earlier trends and sounds with numerous similarities , from the britpop of the nineties sharing styles and sounds from the sixties pop bands , rock bands in general sharing licks and riffs from various blues styles with simply more volume and sound engineering, and a lot of the newer pop/rock outfits taking a crossover from early punk and underground sounds . In my opinion not a critisism or a bad thing , blatant plagiarism is a different matter . |

Joe Satriani actually started a lawsuit against the band Coldplay. claiming that Chris Martin and co plagiarized his 2004 song If I Could Fly for their 2008 single Viva La Vida.
It was settled out of court!! |

I should think so too, it was a blatant rip-off (apart from the fact that no-one in Coldplay will ever be able to even tune a guitar as well as Satch, let alone play it.) |

I loved that because it wasnt cringeworthy to watch the performances live. They blended well together and the songs were so beautiful. When I see him jiggling about trying to look as sexy as he did 30 odd years ago it just doesnt register on the attractive scale. |
