Can Britain please chill the fuck out! I have to admit its embarrassing seeing some people who yesterday called for togetherness loosing their shit over this mornings result.

The country has spoken, regardless of age, race, IQ, social status, religion, we're leaving the EU together, deal with it!

I'm safe in the knowledge you make your own luck in this life and no good comes from living in fear. If any outcome of this referendum effects you long term then change it, simple as that, move to a different part of the country/world, switch jobs, start a new business, meditate, whatever, just use your fucking noggin!

Our foreseeable future is mapped out for us well in advance regardless of what choice we made yesterday. The majority of you will still be able to sit on your fat arse at the end of a hard days work making money, part of it which pays towards a corrupt agenda, tuck into your processed food, while being brainwashed with one eye on your financed 52" HD Television and the other surfing Facebook on your financed Apple Mac while you're drip-fed more political bullshit over the coming months aimed at dividing us even more!

Those with any amount of intellect will know as a nation it's time to stand together not fall apart.

We're all humans living on planet earth, some of us are leaving an imaginary border named the EU, so what, things will work out, they always do.

Bizarrely, I've heard several older people say they voted Leave so their grandchildren have a better future...

I'm not sure what they are expecting but I'll be surprised if it turns out the way they think it will.

Yes but a greater proportion of the population are older. Do you care about them?"

Predictions suggest that the triple fence around pensions will fall to cost cutting and the retirement age will rise faster now. It remains to be seen but it's entirely possible. Maybe the older people should have cared about that a bit.

Just because a section of society votes for (or against) a notion, doesn't give it any more (or less) credibility.

Only time will tell as to whether we are taking the right (or wrong) route.

"Do the older leave supporters care about this ?"

No we are all just now bored by the sheer pomposity of the remain's camp inability to accept the admittedly narrow majority.

I turned off talk sport for radio5 live today ( no matches on) and could not believe all these financial giants really didn't see it coming.

The young need to go and get a job first then see what the whole entire world is really like. I was ( very briefly) a student and thought the world owed me a living. I was a twat. Then I got actual job that paid me for my efforts

Thought Cameron behaved admirably in his resignation speech. Decent man at the end of the day. No matter where your usually born political allegiance lies.

Except for that time he left his kid in the pub. Even I wouldn't do that.

I'd have stayed till last orders.

Some details here

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jun/24/young-remain-voters-came-out-in-force-but-were-outgunned?CMP=twt_gu

Basically the young have 69 years to live under this decision where the older voters that pushed it in have just 16

Do we care that 75% of under 30s voted to remain – NO.

We are old enough to know what it was like before the country was conned into joining the Common Market which was later changed to become a political union.

This means we are old enough to have seen first hand the devious ways of the EU.

In addition may of us have children and grandchildren who are not old enough to vote therefore we vote with an eye to their future.

Having been conned once we look into the true state of affairs and check what the plans and ambitions are for the EU rather than simply believing what the politicians say.

No.

They profited from the economic and housing boom of the 70's and 80's, and think the glory days will return.

They don't care or have a rather a very slim view on how the world actually works.

The other demographics that voted to leave are just clearly idiots.

England and Wales combined (which will be the extent of the union in 1-2 years) will be laughed at on a world stage infront of China and India.

Nope as I was working. Unlike some people who voted "OUT" just because they think that foreigners will suddenly up and leave creating thousands of jobs. Jobs that real English people are too proud to do, so will continue signing on the dole instead

It's worth watching Sky news. Just shown a statistic showing 19 areas across the country that have an Unemployment rate of over 8%. Out of those 19, 17 voted leave. That backs up my theory rather nicely

I do hope you aren't a graduate, as your understanding of the history of the British economy is somewhat wanting. You might want to research the oil crisis of the 70's, the time the pound was devalued and the IMF bailed out britain , out of control inflation and high interest rates of the 70's, the winter of discontent, unemployment hitting 3 million under the early years of Thatcher.

Just to get it right the 75% figure was for 18-24 year olds, not 18-30 year olds.

As someone who remembers the 70's being in the EU didn't do us much good in the winter of discontent.

Oh. Ask the 18-24 year olds in Spain, Italy or Greece if they think EU membership is helping their job prospects.

True.

But what do you expect? Since Thatcher the mantra has been 'greed is good' and it has been taken to heart.

We are so disgracefully greedy we have hours of daily TV entertainment (flog it, cash in the attic...) centred on how we can flog off family heirlooms for a pittance while our politicians do the same with the nations wealth to line their pockets.

Welcome to the reality of Tory capitalism and remember we're all in it together!

Half of Europe want to leave. I have no concern for today's young people. If they work hard and pay their way. All I have seen is a lot of students throwing their teddies out their prams. Britain will trade the way they always have. Our economy will stabilze and when that happens perhaps the government will stop killing our local services and stop taking money from the most needy. The EU machine is failing. It never lived up to what was promised. I voted leave because I wanted a new beginning. A new alliance in Europe through real free trade not held back by red tape. Immigration doesn't concern me. We live in a small world with diverse culture's that make this country a better place. We will do better without restricted trade rules. Every country deserves to set its own laws. If Scotland vote to leave the union then good on them. Scotland is a lovely country and it is a country not just a piece of land that sits on top of England. People of every country should have their own voice. Its called democracy. Who ever the next pm is I wish he or she well. It will be a tough job but once the dust settles we can look back and smile at the brave decision we made by way of democracy.

"Half of Europe want to leave. Pound Stirling and markets have taken a battering. If this continues, we are set for a other recession.

Farage you fucking racist deluded fuck

Guess you never listened to the Bank of England report this morning,

Nope as I was working. Unlike some people who voted "OUT" just because they think that foreigners will suddenly up and leave creating thousands of jobs. Jobs that real English people are too proud to do, so will continue signing on the dole instead

This is why I feel uneasy. We live in a democracy and the people have spoken: I have absolutely no argument with that whatsoever.

There are some people however, who voted out "to get their country back" (from the immigrants) who do believe that all the immigrants will up and leave, vacating their homes and jobs for the real English to walk into.

When they realise that's not the case I fear all hell will break loose.

Then again, I tend to look at worst case scenarios so could be wrong.

come on lady, you and I both know the referendum was about much more than immigration, you seem an educated person so don't start trying to stir trouble by saying it was only about immigration

.This was a democratic vote where everyone had their chance to vote and like it or not, the Leave Campaign won by a huge overwhelming majority which was the voice of Britain

"

You sound like a relatively switched on guy and you are 100% correct in assuming that those who voted out was not solely based around the imigration card.

The reality is, there are many many people out there whos primarily objective and vote OUT tick in the box was for imigration.

Unfortunately there is no way of backing this up with any form of statistic

At the end of the day things are going to change. For the better or worse? Nobody can say for sure.

Some things we take for granted may change in our favour and yet some other will go against us. It's all about ballance I guess.

We as individuals just have to make the most of what will be offered over the next few months and years, adapt lifestyles and get on with it. Most sensible people will do that but there are going to be those who just want the easy life, to be spoon fed. That is the type of UK citizen who is set for a shock!

A pretty piss poor analogy I know but that's my summary of it all

well if you work that little bit harder, pay into AVC's and put some pennies away you can retire at 50 with few worries

Hubby lost £14K from his pension pot today, luckily we do hedging as a living so won more than enough to cover this on the leave vote at 10/1"

All those nasty older people who voted to leave even though it could affect their pensions and they'd have no one to look after them?

Maybe lifes experiences have allowed them to see through the bullshit or maybe they have thought it is worth the sacrifice to their pensions and care so that in the long run the younger will benefit.

It is human nature for the old to care for the young and generally this is what they have done by voting out.

As Muhamad Ali once said, show me a man who's opinions are the same at 40 as they were at 20 and I'll show you a man who has wasted 20 years of his life. So true

Central

There were people who voted emotionally, from anger, who had little consideration for the nuances of what the implementation of their decision would entail. The risks for Northern Ireland, the implications for people who were much different from them - such as the younger, etc.

I am inclined to think that we needed a lot more education, before being ready to actually vote on this.

Derby

There are about 6.5 Million 18-24 year olds eligible to vote. Apparently only 60% of these voted - the lowest proportion of all demographics. 75% of those that voted, voted to stay in. So that's a total of 45% of 18-24 year olds actually voted to stay in.... or 55% did not vote to stay in.

About 2.5 Million could not be bothered to go and vote... more than enough to swing the vote to remain.

They have only themselves to blame.

The turn out was lowest in the younger section, maybe they should look to their own age group who did not vote before blasting older people. "

With all due respect ...

Those of us who are 'older' and those older than me have worked for decades to build this country. So we do bloody care greatly!

Some 'older' voted to 'Remain' in 1973 and have seen what was a trade agreement turn into a political federal project and felt cheated.

Any figures on how many 'older' people voted to 'Remain' or 'younger' to 'Leave'? Doubt it.

But to say we do not care about others because we voted one way or another is just downright insulting ....

Anecdotal. We have the figures on how each demographic voted and it wasn't 50/50 down the board, regardless of who was at the Wembly arena. We don't have figures as to why.

It also doesn't really matter in the end. The bed has been made.

"Do the older leave supporters care about this ?"

Not really. They had the same opportunity as older people to vote. It may affect them for 40 odd years, same as joining originally affected us all. There may be another referendum one day to rejoin a new EU and then they will be the older ones. Perhaps then, in 2056, will they consider people born in 2020 who never knew a life inside the EU? I suspect not. With all things in this universal balance, what goes round, comes round. Their turn will come. Relax, be happy and make it work.

Would love to know the motives behind those who voted OUT.

1. Imigration?

2. Over population?

3. Lifestyle improvement?

4. Miraculous turn around of NHS?

5. Having control of our own Rules?

6. Job prosperity?

7. Shape and size of your bananas and cucumbers?

The likelihood is that whatever happens, everyday prices for groceries and fuel will go up due to the price hike in trade restrictions
