I'll be toasting all the shipmates that have passed and celebrating all the ones still serving. I just wish we were like the Americans when it comes to serving and ex service personnel as they truly respect them.

I'm off to Portsmouth to meet up with some old army pals. Lunch followed by a visit to our regimental museum in Winchester followed by an evening chatting over a few beers followed by complete loss of memory of the night before.

Im from a forces family, my mother was WAF then navy, and my dad was navy during the war.

However, I find the sycophancy to all service personnel uncomfortable. Like most walks of life, some people are good and some are wankers, and that applies to the forces as well.
