I don't know how I feel about it tbh.

Scared, excited, proud, ashamed.

I do know one thing.

The way that both parties have acted in the build up to this has been nothing short of childish.

Almost like a school playground at times

My dad is bigger than your dad....

These are the people running the country!

What's next?

Interest rate increases, recession, mass strikes, power cuts, petrol shortage, food shortage and rationing, looting, riots.

Followed by martial law being declared..

Then by Monday all will be ok

So how's that spitting our dummy out. If I remember correctly 55% of us wanted to stay in the UK at the last referendum and since then the snp's big marketing tool (oil) has plunged that far in value you couldn't give it away so I'd be surprised if that figure was to change dramatically.

This was always going to happen in someway shape or form. I had my doubts if it would happen today. We are the UK, we aren't European. We aren't a country that likes to be told what to do by other countries. We fought wars over threats to our shores. Yes they may well be a shock to our economy. This has happened before and we recovered. We joined the EEC in 1975, we were told for economic and trade reasons.. We actually got Flags, goverments and presidents. That's not what we signed up for and now is the time where the people of this country have said No. Like it or not, the people of the UK had a choice and they have made that choice. We are a democracy and we need to respect that.

No lets get back to the table or anything so it was bound to happen.

I am surprised it is so close though but with so many underhanded threats by companies and EU costomers about what might happen if we want to take back control of our own country then maybe I'm not surprised at all

"Now wait for the cracks in Europe to come

France and Italy will go I just cannot believe you said that. Cracks in Europe usually mean conflict."

There won't be a European war, no one could afford it. When Cameron suggested a possible WW3 I lost all remaining respect for him.

In my mind Project Fear over egged the pudding so much that people stopped believing a word they said. The vote to leave has been made on an emotional level, which is a V sign to Project Fear.

I have no doubt the EU will crumble in the coming years, good riddance to it.

I think it's a bit much to call people that voted leave racist or bigots... the country has voted, whether we like the result or not, its what we now have; and in-fighting will not strengthen us in what is bound to be a time of great hardship....

I don't think this was an easy decision for anyone, hence the closeness of the result, our friends, neighbours and family may all have voted differently to the way we voted, lets try and get along eh? Or should we tear ourselves apart and slight each other for preferences (something frowned upon on this site........)

Yep, you've been screwed over by the old, the ignorant and the racists.

A lot of Leave voters will be dead before they feel the future they've cursed us all with, though...so the future is bright for some at least.

Wow that a pretty sweeping statement to call over half the electorate.

I voted to remain but can fully understand why certain areas would vote to leave, if you struggle to get a job are on low wages etc then why would you vote to keep the status quo

Europe is in turmoil their economies are struggling, there is a huge anti eu sentiment in many countries and that will increase now we are going, NO company will leave because of this vote until they see how things develop, the costs involved would be enormous, the international banking language is english and the expertise we have is world leading, they will stay when they see that the world hasnt ended
