I thought they were and the ingredients weren't always so fresh, considering the price.
I've noticed they've been advertising another similar product on telly recently, but the name escapes me. |

"Who else cooks hello fresh meals and loves them
I do and there delicious "
My daugher has a box delivered every month
The meals are nice but once you have the recipe you can buy the ingredients from the supermarket and cook it again for a fraction of the cost |

"i've seen it advertised but as I can cook my own recipes I don't see the point
Trust me it's worth it so many things you learn from it as you constantly doing new things "
Yeah but can't you buy a cook book and buy the ingredients cheaper elsewhere?

You can do but that equates to time and with a busy life id rather pay a few quid extra as it's just that a few quid for fresh ingredients and no hassle walking isle to isle looking for ingredients |

If you want to spend half hour looking for meals and another hour or so looking for spices or ingredients you've not heard of yes
I do agree once it becomes second nature yes
I do pause my meals now and again and buy ingredients for meals I've cooked |

This is true
It's wastage also and it actually cost more buying your self to begin with believe it or not
As you can't buy exact amounts you need so unless you use the spices a lot then it can cost more |

"Are they expensive?
They vary from £36 to £64 with £10 off first order
Each box does three meals for two people except the £64 box that feeds more "
Fuck me, that's expensive!
I'm glad I was taught to cook.... |

it wouldn't be cost effective for me as I would have to buy separate meals for my son, who is a fussy wee fecker |

Fuck me, that's expensive!
I don't think it is for fresh top quality ingredients
It's 3 meals
I bet first few times around if you pick 3 meals out of a recipe book you can't get it much cheaper than 36 quid
As you have to buy a full bottle of rice wine vinegar a full bottle of soy sauce etc etc
Plus your meats
Veg
I do agree if you do cook similar meals all the time with same ingredients eventually of course it's cheaper
It is what it is it broadens your variety with cooking and teaches you
I am at the point now where I will cancel soon and source ingredients cheaper as I know what meals I'll cook a lot of etc
I'm glad I was taught to cook...."

You can buy exact values and once you get a store cupboard of herbs and spices you just keep it ticking over.
These schemes are more expensive, how else do they make any money?
If you value not having to work to get meals then they will work for you if you don't mind getting ripped off and having your thinking outsourced to someone else. Each to their own.
We love cooking and love trying new recipes and tinkering with things so it is probably not for us. |

I'm trying Simply Cook which is more flexible, a lot cheaper, lets you sample new recipes and tinker with them. I'll be cooking the first one tonight |

Good luck. Let us know how it goes!
I find none of these offers as much flexibility as my local green grocer and butcher. Or even supermarket. |

"What about those Ronnie Corbett type meals? Probably about as fresh and not tried them either."
the ones Ronnie Corbett was advertising were cooked and brought straight to your door...like a posh 'meals on wheels' |
