Gotta love a full moon - the downside is that other stargazing is impacted by the brightness but it's always a pleasure to enjoy the majesty of a clear full moon
Another month or so and Perseid season kicks off although the peak isn't until August |

Can't see any stars round me because of the light pollution, so a beautiful full moon is a minor thrill. |

"Just had a look outside, looks normal to me? Whitish and bright, no pink or red in it at all."
It would have been cool if it had turned pink for the occasion.
Although a blood red moon is apparently the harbinger of the Old Ones, and we would be devoured by Cthulhu. |

The name refers to the full moon that kicks off the Strawberry harvest, unrelated to the colour of it |

A strawberry moon is the first full moon of the strawberry season (which starts on 15th June). It does not refer to the colour. It happens to drop on the longest day this year...as it did in 1967 and will do again when most of us are pushing up daisies.... |

This has been driving me nuts today.
Keep reading about how the strawberry moon and summer solstice only coincide once every 70 years, with the last one being in 1967.
And im sitting screaming internaly
"Do the fucking arithmetic !! Thats only been 49 years, not fucking 70"
Anyhoo, happy summer |

Its the last time we get a full moon on the summer solstice for 70 years. Last time it happened was 1967, the year I was born. " it looked amazing tonight x |

I'm flying overnight above the clouds, though it's still hot and sunny daylight atm. Looking forward to it as last night was great.
Rare to get a full moon at summer solstice plus strawberry makes it once in a lifetime. |

"adding to this - apparently last night was a strawberry moon - too cloudy here to see it"
There was definitely a full moon effect over the last couple of days. One more night of the pull... and feeling fruity. |
